Pay With Euro At Zürich-Kloten?

Fri Jun 14, 2002 1:26 am

During July, me and a few friends are making an 7-hour stop at Zürich-Kloten airport before continuing our trip to Paris, and my question is, if the Euro is accepted as payment at the Zürich-airport shops, restaurants and entrance fee to the observation deck?

As I'm a bit lazy, I want to bring as few currencies as possible at this trip...  Big grin

When I was at ZRH last December and January nasty lady (cashier) at that crappy food court was asking us if we going to pay with Euro, Dollars or Franks. I guess they accepting Euros. Does anybody know which lady I'm talking about? hehehe Nasty small, with glasses.

In European airports they used to accept all the main foreign currencies also before Euro was introduced, so I really think Euro is accepted by duty free shops and restaurants there in Switzerland.

I was in Zermatt/Switzerland in february. You can pay with Euro there, but everything is a little more expensive in Euro than it is in Franks. So I guess that they accept Euro at ZRH as well.
The only exception might be the observation deck, because you have to put a 2-Franks-coin into a machine before you can enter.

I was flying IAD-ZRH-WAW-ZRH-IAD
All were on Swissair or Crossair back then it was A330-A320-A319-A330
It was my second time with Swissair, I liked the service but seats on those A330 are terrible. My family is flying Swiss on the same route next month. I'll take Swiss again in the future.

Avion, yes I was going back to IAD on January 6th. My flight was late 2hrs so I was seating at the end of the concourse with another fellow photographer and we were taking pictures thru the glass (weather was nasty).
We were seating in the smoking section.

On my way to Poland I was taking pictures and I've seen some other guy taking pics too and after some time I found here on this site pictures that look exactly like mine  Smile He was standing beside me
Here are those pics

I think I know exactly who you are talking about. What did you order from her?
My french fries were soggy, I told her and she told me it was not her problem... Other than her it is one for the greatest airports in the world  Smile

I'll check if she's there on Saturday when I fly in From SFO  Smile
