Crazy Question

Sat Jun 22, 2002 11:30 am

Hi, i was talking to my friends who are complete Car lovers and they brag all the time about how fast there cars are from 0-60mph. Do any of you know the accelerating rates (or 0-60mph) times for any kinds of Military, General Aviation (twins or singles) or Airliners. I want some info i can tell them. thanks a lot!

Cheers

The fighters (jets, not the props), when launched from a carrier, go 0-180 in 2-3 seconds... that is some serious speed!
Why yes, in fact, I am a rocket scientist...

0-180mph in 2-3 seconds! Now I want to see your friends brag against that!

I dunno about that but I do know that if you buy a Porsche Boxster S as opposed to a regular Boxster you get about another second for 0-60 and a few more MPH top speed. Yeah, that's worth another $20,000...

I think most singles are off the ground by 60mph. (what is that in kts?)
