Has Everybody Heard About Sept. 11th?

Mon Jun 24, 2002 3:48 am

I was just thinking, do you think that there could be some guy who has been on like, a spiritial journey in some mountains somewhere, or in some rainforest in south america or something who hasn't heard about what happened on September 11th?

I don't know why I thought this, but what the hell - what do you think?

Certainly there would be.
Think of the tribes that live in the Amazon rainforest or the Papua New Guinea Highlands who have no contact with the outside world.
Just two examples.  Smile

Well, if you wanna say the amish, according the them NYC never even exists, and the WTC were never built, because that would require use of technology. And, you couldn't tell them it happened because why would there be airplanes in the sky? Your horse and buggy is just fine. It'd be like trying to tell us that Aliens hijacked the International Space Station.

 Big thumbs up

Apart from the type of people LY772 described or the tribes living in somewhere like papua new guinea, then i think over 90% of the world's population would have heard of it, or anyone with access to the media or communications.

Nah Donder....WI is pretty civilized...it would most likely be the backwaters of Alabama that found out yesterday. LOL Some pretty remote places here in the US.

I highly doubt that 90% of the world would now where 11/09/2001 stands for. India alone has about a billion people, no offense but most of these people have other things on their minds, such as... What will we eat today?

Manni's 100% correct - to many Americans it matters, but to the vast majority of the rest of the world, who will probably never even own a TV and who are considerably more concerned about where their next meal comes from, it is meaningless.

From what you see in the Middle East sometimes, it seems that not everyone has heard of the WTC attacks.

Manni - SAS, the question wasn't does it have any significance or bearing on everyone's life, but just if they've heard about it. That was the question. It really doesn't need to have meaning nor priority for them to have been merely passed the information. 80% of the news I hear, I could give a rodent's gluteus-maximum about; but I hear it nonetheless.

And that was my answer to that question.
Who's going to tell these people about it?

Manni, each other perhaps. Six degrees of seperation to someone that has access to a TV/radio/newspaper. News travels.
