No avoid home gyms, I have found that they don't give the workout you would get with a total gym such as Bally Total Fitness or the YMCA. I think that if you have the money to spend on a home gym, then use it to buy a membership at a nice gym with good equipment. But if you have to get a home gym then don't settle for anything less then the stuff that is at your local gym. Those multi machines suck. You would need Free weights, incline bench, flat bench, a cable machine, a dip machine, a decline bench, a bar, a preacher bench with bar and the list goes on. Those all in one gym machines do not give a very good workout at all so save it for a membership.
