The Video Taper Is Now The "Tapee"

Sat Jul 13, 2002 5:55 am

Well, talk about a turn of events. It seems that Mitchell Crooks who video taped the Ingelwood Police making an arrest, had several warrants for his arrest (driving under the influence, hit and run) himself. He was taken into custody in front of CNN studios prior to a scheduled interview.

From inside the authorities SUV , Crooks yelled at the top of his lungs, "Help! Help! Help! Help me!" as he was driven away.

What's he scared of? My pals in New York have a saying, "Payback's a bitch ain't it?"

"He who casts the first stone"

What kind of 'payback' are you talking about?

That's not a payback. He was due to be arrested any way.
Your post sounded as if this was some sort of payback for videotaping the police officers.

I agree Superfly, this is definitely not some childish tit for tat operation. The police didn't arrest him because he taped them, he got arrested because he had outstanding warrants. There's absolutely no element of vengeance here, simply the law at work.

True, but I hope that stupid Morse person gets jail / gaol / whatever-the-way-you-spell-it. What a twit. He shall go to hell.

As for this Michael Crooks, well, good for his tape I say. It's a shame he's going to jail etc...

It is payback in Crooks eyes. In the matter of the law, it is just implementation of the law. Which is good. There are going to be people who will think this is just retribution for exposing this sordid affair.

Crooks was very reluctant to come forward at first, then it just got to big for him and then he wanted his face everywhere as a matter of "protection."

Like I said "paybacks a bitch."

A shame?? He's a criminal. What if it was your bike he stole or your sister he raped? People say the darndest things..."its a shame he's going to jail"...What's the madder with you?

I would suggest that it is payback .... he wouldn't have come to their attention had he not gone public, however I don't see that as a negative thing for the police as the warrants are legtimate and he did bring himself to their attention ... seems more funny than anything else .. he must be a bit of a loser  Smile
