Looking For Good Indian Record Store In London

Sun Jul 14, 2002 2:54 am

I'm going to London on august the 9th for some spotting at LHR, and a little bit of shopping in the afternoon.....going to London in the morning, back to Amsterdam late in the evening....and I've got a little question....

does anyone know a good and not-expensive Asian record store not far from the city? (easy to reach by Tube or Bus) where I have a good choice of Bollywood and Local British-Asian music??

Hope to hear it from some people out here....thanx in advance!

regards,

Danny (KL713)

I can't give you exact names of the stores, but try Southall or Whitechapel.

Good gracious, there have to be at least a hundred such stores in Southall/Hounslow alone. Just head on over there and you won't be disappointed.

Try all the harrow borough's aswell, you will definitely find them!

Infact, search all of West London.

Head into Hounslow Central. It's on the Piccadilly line, straight from LHR. It's about 15 minutes on the tube.

Head into Hounslow Central. It's on the Piccadilly line, straight from LHR. It's about 15 minutes on the tube.

Cheaper option to the tube might be the 111 bus. You can hop off at the Treaty Center (closer to Hounslow Central tube), or ride through High Street to the Bus Garage (Houslow East tube).

Or get a 105 bus from LHR, to Southall.
A bit more convoluted, but may avoid bad traffic, is to get a 140 bus from LHR, get off at Hayes railway station, and get a train to the next stop on the line, Southall.
But you'll probably find what you want in Hounslow, but Southall has about the longest established Asian community in the UK.
