Honda XR650L

Tue Jul 16, 2002 12:28 pm

I just bought one on ebay in LAS. Gotta go pick it up and ride it 1200 miles to Spokane, WA. Any advice? I'm wondering what kind of mileage they get....the stock tank is only 2.8 gallons! How fast can I expect to go on the freeway?

On the street, the extremely tall 650 is a blast to ride. It's also quiet and easy to ride. The only drawback here is the bike's extreme seat height which can seem tall even to 6 footers. The bike is smooth at freeway speeds, pulls well and only begins to buzz through the bars at speeds above 70mph. Jaunts under an hour are no problem, but extend this range and the straight-up in-the-wind seating position begins to take it's toll as you pull against the bars.

That's awsome you got a dirt/street bike! Are you going to take it off road any time soon?

Make sure you have a full face helmet as bugs get quite annoying smashing into your face and pants are good to have.

Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Staten, Uptown, what now? Lets make it happen.
