I dove for the first time last Saturday, near Marseilles. What I saw was magnificent. Water was crystal clear and quite warm and everything was beautiful.
But. It was quite awkward for me to breathe underwater. Usually I'm able to stay under water, holding my breath for a bit more that one minute, and everytime I did not thin I had to breathe, I stopped breathing. Not a very good idea. Plus, add this to the fact that my weight bet was not very well balanced (the instructor put most of the weights on my back instead of my belly - I never guessed what it would do before I was 6 ft under water and on my back ).
Anyway about the 'warming process'
, I was aware of it, but didn't have to use it - I had emptied my 'heating tank' before stepping on the boat, and as it was a rented suit, I did not want the next user to have my fluids.
I don't think I'll do it again (the flippers are a pain fr my feet nails which have a tendecy to become ingrown), but I'd advice it to everybody. You don't even have to know how to swim !!!
