Too bad, he was always good for a laugh and was usually right about whatever he was ranting about.

I'm ashamed he's from the same State as I am. Thank God he's not representing my district. I'd vote for someone like Newtie or Bob Barr before voting for this lunatic!  Big grin

And, can someone PLEASE get him a new rug for his head??

He does need a new hair style. His current one looks like it is alive.

This is interesting...the only House member to vote against Traficant's expulsion was (drum roll)...

Gary Condit

No, I'm not making that up.

My salute to the ever-vulgur James Trafficant!

I got both things off of Traffican's website just before it was closed up by the House

In comes the conspiracy theory;
He must have REALLY pissed someone important off. God knows you have to walk through shit to get elected, and none of these boys smell like roses. We also know there's no shortage of mild insanity at the house level.

I am reminded of a story close to the civil war where a certain congressman Haynes beat a certain congressman Sumner senseless with a 6 oz cane. Sumner had to be sent to france for neurosurgery, and Haynes was punished; however both parties got re-elected!

I really enjoyed watching his 'testimony' last week, and his speech before the full House the other night. I thought as though someone needs to sign him up as a talk show host. As for his hair(piece), I like his comment the best: "It may look like I cut my hair with a weedwacker......"

I have a theory about Traficant.

Either this guy really knows something that nobody wants him to tell and he is some complete genius as well.

Or he is f*cking nuts.

Honestly I think it is a little from column A, A LOT from column B.

I have no sympathy for Jimbo, but you got to wonder....maybe he's just not as good as hiding it as a lot of other Congressmen are.

I met Traficant once in Cleveland. The guy's got good in him, but he's definately his own worst enemy.

Prediction: His own radio talk show by the end of the summer.

He was quite an independent individual. I personally believe that the nation needs at least one of him in Congress, and we would be better to have something like five (ahh...but not much more.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

While I think that the nation needs him, and is better with him, I also think he was not very good for the district--one which is ailing and could possibly use someone who is better at the politicking. Sure he brought up huge issues that no one else was willing to talk about, but on the other hand, he had cheesed off so many of his fellow Congressmen that he didn't have a voice in committees and such--where decisions were actually being made.

Nevertheless the good people of his district hold their middle fingers high and reelect him--because that will further cheese off people, and it would be kinda neat.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
