I thought we were clear on this KROC.
The Spos have been drawing in the 8,000-15,000 range consistantly for quite some time, with some weekend attendance peaking to 20,000-25,000. An investment group is preparing to finance the team and a new ballpark, which has been planned to cost about $200 million and hold about 35,000-37,000. Also, the former shareholders have launched a lawsuit to keep the team in the city, recover their lost investment and bring to light some of Selig and Loria's back alley dealings.
The major thorn in their side now is Olympic Stadium, an impressive place once for the Games, but completely unsuited for baseball, indoors, and away from the fans; far east from downtown, meaning fans have to fight through downtown traffic in the opposite direction of their homes, to go to and from the stadium. The downtown open-air park will bring fans to the games by giving them what they want to enjoy baseball.
here's a pic in case youre wondering.
I'll take you to a game when we finally get it built
