Weight Problem

Wed Aug 28, 2002 3:42 pm

Hi Guys
This is kind of a personal question so hopefully no one will joke about it.
Anyway i'm under weight for my age by quite a lot and i need to put on weight and put a lot on.
I'm 18 and about 5 foot 10 inches.
I'm not the kind of guy that works out at the gym either, though i do have a set of dunbells (weights) at home.
If anyone has any tips on putting on some weight, like what kinds of food are the best to eat etc.... or anything i'm willing to try anything.

Thanks in advance

Seriously, pump iron (you don't have to go hard core) and EAT.

Eat big hearty meals, meat/potatoes/veggies and a big glass of milk.

If you eat big hearty meals and work out you'll gain weight in a good way: More muscle.

I'm 22, I'm 5'5" and I'm packing 174 lbs. I'm not fat. I have a little bit of flap but it's not like my stomach sticks out further than my chest. I'd rather be like this than be ripped but scrawny.

Good Luck!

Eat Steaks, lots of steaks. And Beer, lots of beer.

you can buy beer where you live right? Keep going to the gym, it'll all be turned into muscle which = Weight.

Good luck!! (I need to do the same).

My surefire way of gaining 15 pounds in a year:

1) Go to college

2) Eat lots of starch-laden dorm food

3) Smoke marijuana and eat everything in sight

4) As mentioned before, drink gallons of beer

I guarantee you after your freshman year, you'll be 15 pounds heavier.

TWFirst - I've noticed that beer solves everything, have you noticed that?

Even hangovers, if you want to avoid a hangover, keep drinking and stay drunk. voila, hangover never appears.

If you smoke, quit smoking. I was really underweight a couple of years ago, and smoking a pack a day. When I quit I gained a fair amount, as my apetite increased. I'm 5'10, and when I was 20 I was about 125 lbs, and now I'm 160 lbs and 24. I gained 20 lbs in a matter of a couple of months, then stabalised for a while at 145 lbs, and then again I gained 15 lbs to where I'm at now.

You are 18, so you'll find when you get to your early 20's you'll gain more easily. But like has been said above, lift weights, eat well and you should be fine.

Go to GNC and get some Beef Cake 3000. Drink a few gallons of that stuff and you'll bulk up.

MMMMMMMMM, CHEESE!!!!! Yes, cheese is a Godsend.

I have a bigger problem that I have to worry about with regards to weight gain ... I have high cholesterol, and there is a really bad family history of heart attacks in my family. Most recently, last year my cousin died of his second heart attack. He had quadruple bypass surgery a year before that. He was about 5'9, 170 lbs of muscle, worked out extensively, and had the 2 heart attacks. He was 30 years old!!!

So eventhough I am happy I gained weight, I have that to worry about.

Just give it time. I'm 6'2, and I was always a stringbean. In highschool, I was always about 150-160ish. I could eat anything that you shoved under my nose and not gain a pound.

Now, I'm 26 (for 3 more weeks), and I've been hovering around 198 for the past year. I don't drink a lot, or smoke any weed. It'll just happen in time. If you want to accelerate it, eat well and work out.

I need to take my own advice on the working out, but it's just too strenuous!

Smoke for a year and then quit at the same time that the only girl you ever loved breaks your heart. Good for 30 pounds at least

Thanks guys,
I'm thinking right about now, to go and grill some cheese sandwhiches, while i wait for the steak to cook i'll eat the sanwhiches and wash all that down with some milk and beefcake 3000!!!
I'm also thinking about starting up some casual smoking, maybe even weed sounds like that does the trick!
What about bourbon and cake does bourbon work the same as beer???

Do a search on google or another search engine for weight gain sites, and you'll find lots of "interesting" ones which might or might not give you tips. You'll find some which are in dubious taste, so beware!!!

You need to put on a lot of wight, EAT A LOT of good meals, and go to gym, or practice some sports. The only problem is that you should not get used to eating a lot, because after reaching your ideal wicht, yu'll keep on eating, and.... thats what happened to me: I'm 6'7" and I'm wighting my good 250!

I'm 6' and 270 pounds, I'm overweight, but have several activities to shape me up, I think I've lost somewhere around 10 pounds in the last 2-3 weeks because of those.

I have weight training and that works out and burns fat, and then I have marching band (I play bass drum #4(the biggest compared to 5(which people never use))) and that helps me shape up my back to make it straight and that also burns fat, So now I think I'm about 260...

But if you want to get bigger, don't drink beer (you'll get just fat) but work out as well and eat good meals.

777-300 FAN.....

I had the same problem at your age. When I was in college, I signed up at the gym to a weight-gain program. The trick is to lift heavier weights with less repetitions as compared to people wanting to lose weight. After a session, I would swim a few laps, eat a couple of hot dogs in the cafereria, then go home to my parents' (I lived at home) and have a full-course Hungarian meal.

After college, I moved out and my diet degenerated to pizza and beer. By the age of 30, I was having trouble keeping weight off! Thankfully, I can still fit into an airline seat, but.....

Good luck

Aren't I like 13? Nope, I'm like, 16. I only drink for social occasions (oh, and well, when there is too much beer in the house).

mmmm.
