Sat Aug 31, 2002 1:31 am

ESPN said they reached a deal. I'm glad I dont have to boycott the games now. I'll get to watch the Twinkies make the post season!

There's a press conference at 1PM ET on ESPN

Damn. I wanted to see these idiots shoot themselves in the foot.
Does anyone else find it offensive that they keep saying "they've averted a work stoppage"? Those jagoffs wouldn't know a day of work if it bit 'em on the ass.

Ditto, Gunships!

I could have told you this much...neither the players or the owners would have let a strike happen. They knew that would be shooting themselves in the foot. They knew they would lose, I would say, the majority of their fanbase.
But when the talk of a strike started, they lost me. The whole situation seems ludicrous. The greed on both sides astounds me.

Give me Hockey and Football anyday!
Go Hurricanes! Go Vikings!

great, now we get to listen to the players whine about how because of them, a strike was averted. As much a baseball fan as I am, I wish I they would have gone on strike.

They are already over paid.

They what, work 4 hours each time for 160? games a year. They make way too much.

They are winny, immature, cry babies

Good, they saved A LOT of fans by not striking. But they're still losers.
