Guess not, they have a religion, duh.
These strict regulations are almost as bad as those perpetrated against women by the Taliban.
I cannot believe that you even come close to even making some sort of connection to the Taliban. Don't you find that just a little
of a stretch? First of all, Jewish population in the world is decreasing. There's more Jews in America than there are in Israel for one. And among a group of people where their numbers are decreasing, because of inter-marriage, something like inter-marriage will be frowned upon.
Example? My family. My mother would detest it if I were to marry anybody non-Jewish. Date, sure, but marry, big no no. Why? I guess its a pride thing. Also, all my Dad's side of the family died in the holocaust, along with millions of other Jews (duh). So there's this mentality to keep the views and religion strong and going, which I think is fine.
But of course, that puts me in a dillemma. Sure I've fallen for girls who aren't Jewish, but then what do I do? Go against my parents wishes? Also kinda causes problems for me, because I'm proud to be Jewish. Its causes problems, and I don't like it.
Theres going to be those that say "See what religion does to your life? It sucks! Religion is a bad thing." My response to that, I like my religion. I'm happy with it, it adds to my life, and I'm willing to face any of the problems that it brings to me in my life.
Ok, I'm done rambling...
