Pot For Berries Ring Busted....

Sat Oct 12, 2002 11:35 pm

This is an interesting scam.

Apparently the way the system worked was that these kids where stealing berries from their parents, grandparents and neighbors and then trading them to a pot dealer for his product.

It was when the police raided the home of the dealer that they discovered how he was being paid for his product.

When they where busted the dealer had 75 lbs of berries in his freezer. At this point, all but two zip lock bags of berries have been returned to the rightful owners.

You know I doubt that that particular scam would work in L.A.

Surely one of the greater sins of the age we live in.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Still, you absolutely gotta respect a state that charges something like a $25 fine for possession of a joint...and a $1500 fine for hunting without a license.

THOSE are some good priorities.

Actually according to state law they can't charge you if there is less then 25 plants growing in your basement.

That isn't my thing though.

I am just glad that I live in a state where it is legal to hunt the state bird, and Ptarmigan are good eatin'

Oh Heavymetal, the law is that besides what the fine is, you also forfiet all the equiptment that was used.

That can and has included, guns, tents, boats and airplanes. More then one Super Cub has ended up in a state auction that way.
