Now five persons (two man and three women) who were kidnapped by North Korea in 1978 are staying their home in Japan (temporary?) and that is the hottest topic here in Japan.
Among them, there are two mutually marriaged couples. In one couple, they had promised marriage and in another couple they had been lover each other before the kidnap. The kidnaps were committed when they were meeting each other in the sea shore by North Korean agent in summer 1978. And the rest one is woman who was kidnapped when she was walking with here mother,
who was also taken away but North Korea does not disclose where the mother is. She married one ex. USA Soldier who had come to North Korea.
All are in their forties, and have 2 or 3 children. This time, they did not accompany their children. They are in North Korea.
It is said that that prevents them from permanently coming back to their home
in Japan. Also some speculate that the children are 'hostage' of North Korea
in order not to let them say something disadvantage to North Korea during the stay in Japan or to assure their going back to North Korea. (Two North Korean
red cross persons accompany)
They themselves say they are leading gifted life there, true or not.
I seriously wonder Japan should let them go "back" to North Korea.
I want to hear your opinion and do you have similar case?
