Most Passport Stamps In A Week

Tue Oct 22, 2002 2:59 pm

I just came back from a whirlwind trip through Asia that wound up earning me 25 passport stamps in a 6 day period. I was wondering if anyone had come close or topped this number.

08. Macau Entry

16 October

09. Macau Exit
10. China VISA issued
11. China Entry
12. China Exit
13. Macau Entry
14. Macau Exit
15. HKG Entry

If only...

... the Eastern Europeans were so "stamp-happy". My recent trip to Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Romania with frequent shuttling to-and-fro would have got me a nice amount too.

On my recent trip:

21 September - Singapore entry
22 September - Singapore exit, Denpasar entry
28 September - Jakarta exit, Singapore entry
30 September - Singapore exit, Perth entry (mistakenly stamped 29 Sep!)
6 October - Sydney exit, Bangkok entry
9 October - Bangkok exit

By the way, B747-437B, how did you get your China visas issued? In Hong Kong? Where abouts, how long did it take, and how much did it cost?

Airways1 - I was able to get my China visas issued at the land border. There were offices both at the LuoHu border crossing between HKG and Shenzhen and the Gongbei border crossing between Macau and Zhuhai that do your visa on the spot. You can get a 5-day single entry SEZ visa for HK$100 or a 6-month full China visa for HK$180 (single entry) or HK$500 (multiple entry). The Shenzhen office is on the first floor of the Joint Inspection Building (you take the escalator up from opposite the duty free shop) and the Zhuhai office is on the left hand side as you enter the Chinese inspection building. Both are well marked. Most nationalities are eligible for this Visa-On-Arrival, but some (such as Britain and Pakistan) are not. It is best to check with the Chinese consulate before leaving.

I got 2 in a week as my personal record.

June 12, 2000: UK entry via Channel Tunnel
June 15, 2000: Belgium entry via Channel Tunnel

I should have had 3 because I had a US entry at ATL just a few days later, within that week, but they did not stamp my passport. I don't know why. I tied the two record this year though.

June 5, 2002: Spain entry at BCN
June 12, 2002: US entry at ATL

Why not Britain and Pakistan?
