I feel sorry for those climbers who have died trying to climb Mt. Everest.
All of those who have survived must feel like real idiots.

I've heard rumors before that K2 was the tallest. I guess it's official now.

Just a minor point airmale, but I think you meant the height of the mountains in feet not in meters.

I've also heard that K2 is tougher than Everest.

My grandfather used to be a pilot during WWII, and flew regularly past both mountains. He sore till his death that K2 was higher.

This is interesting, but do you have a link or any proof of the truth of this? I think that'd be cool if K2 was taller, but I do feel sorry for the climbers that have died trying Everest, or just those that have done it because they wanted to climb the highest mountain. I have heard that K2 is a harder climb than Everest though.

I'm sorry but the list provided in the link is wrong. Popocatépetl and Ixtazíhuatl mountains just outside of Mexico City are both 17,500+ feet over sea level. That would make them 41 and 42, or around that

About K2, it would be great to confirm that the mountain famous for being the most dangerous is also the highest.
