Anyone Like To Drink Orangina?

Wed Dec 04, 2002 4:03 pm

Orangina (the French/Canadian drink) has been one of my favorite drinks for a long time. I used to have it only occasionally, like at restaurants like "Vie de France," but now one of my local stores sells it and I'm drinking it quite a bit. It's so refreshing, and lightly carbonated--just right. Anyone else like this drink?

There was a post on it a few months back . . . everyone said it's really good. I've never tried it yet.  Love

I get my fix in the form of a box of the stuff flown over from New Caledonia every month. I'm sure there must be something in it.....

Very good is Orangine Rouge, I bought two bottles during an a.net meeting at BRU a few weeks ago.

I'm drinking it once a week or so. This drink is in my Fresh Fields store and at most of the gas stations in DC MD and VA.

I haven't had it in several years, but from what I recall it's not bad at all.

I like it too! I prefer the cans because those bottles seem so small. I wish they were a little cheaper but I still buy 'em anyway haha.

lol RayChuang. Yeah when I was posting this thread yesterday I was having a bottle of it myself. It's such a refreshing drink. It's carbonated just enough so you can drink it down without the carbonation killing your tongue.

Sabena: What's Orangina rouge? Is it made from blood-orange? I like blood-oranges..nice an sour.

I gotta go buy more of this stuff..it's not common at all here in Southern California stores. I found it at "Henry's Marketplace.."

FSPilot747,

you are correct, Orangina Rouge is made from blood oranges and it contains also a little bit caffeine and guarana. Unfortunately it is only available in France, Luxembourg and Belgium (maybe also in the Netherlands), here in Germany we have only the regular Orangina but it is OK too. From January we get also Mountain Dew here, also a favorite drink of mine.

Since you've asked "Topic: RE: Anyone Like To Drink Orangina?", the answer is yes I do.

Sadly, I don't know where in the US to get it.

You can get Orangina at Trader Joe's in the US, it is imported from Canada but only in the original flavor, as for orangina rouge I tried that and to me it is more interesting than the original one.......my GF brought back a bottle of orangina (pineapple?) from France a couple of months back, interesting flavor........in Tahiti I tried Orangina "les givres" (sorry for my French spelling), it was sort of like orangina lemon........very good also.

Orangina is great. Here in Singapore, it's so easy to get(supermarkets, cafes etc). Jerrold and Nelson, when you return, get crates of Orangina!

It's one of the most wonderful drinks I've ever had! At first I had it in France, but then to my great surprise and happiness, they stock it at my local grocery store!

I have loved Orangina ever since I discovered it as a kid at a convenience store in my hometown of Coronado, CA. I used to buy several bottles of it and keep them to drink when I had a taste for it.

Orangina is sold at one of the coffee houses I like to go to here in Milwaukee - in the large bottle AND the smaller one.  Smile Heaven!

fresh fields is a quality story. my dad's team raised them 25 million about 5 years ago. now there are a ton of copycats- but they're holding up pretty good against fresh market, wild oats, etc....

I just finished my last bottle..darn! I have to go buy some more. I wish we could get all the different varients of the drink, but we only get original--but that's good enough for me!

i'll try to buy some tomorrow i guess..

I haven't had (or seen) it in 15 years or more.

But I'll be heading to Trader Joe's right after work.

Twaneedsnohelp, I live virtualy between two Fresh Field stores. One almost in front of my apartment building and another one up the street on Wisconsin Ave (in DC). The other one that I used to go is in Rockville MD, and I can say that they always have lots of customers. They are very popular in DC and MD.

I love the taste of Orangina, too. But they only sell it in those 0.5l non-returnable plastic bottels:

Sure, it looks great. But can you imagine how much plastic waste they produce? That's why I never buy cans or non-returnable bottles, only re-fillable bottles with deposit. If Orangina doesn't offer deposit-bottles, I won't buy Orangina, it's simple.

I used to only be able to get Orangina in speciality cafés and stores, but now it's available in Boston in most places. It's best to buy a one litre bottle. I've drank two of them in one afternoon. I love Orangina.

Dude, if you are worrying about Orangina producing non-returnable bottle you need to wake up. Do you not use Windex? Tide? Snuggle? Those bottles are unreturnable also.

I'm not a huge fan of Orangina. Its one of those things that you can make at home really easily, so why would you go out and buy a bottle of it? Although, Jaysit and I actually agree on something...my friends and I tried it with Vodka when we were in Paris a couple years ago. Its amazing stuff when mixed with Vodka, the strong alcohol taste is diminished greatly, we ended up chugging the mixture...bad idea. I havent seen Orangina since I have lived in the Southeast (Atlanta & Dallas)
