This has been beat to death here already. However people always mention reliability of Honda's. I know their engines are amazing, but beyond that, I really don't consider them to be that much better than many other cars. Trust me, Honda's are great, and I would buy one without hesitation. But they have rusted out very quickly in the past, and you do see mid 90's models with plenty of rust here in Canada. Also, lately they've been having lots of problems with automatic transmissions, and they even increased the warranty on the transmissions because of that. I've also heard of numerous control arm and expensive CV joints as issues with many Hondas. The RSX has suffered from a large number of blown engines, however that is more likely because of the stupid drivers who miss a shift, thinking they are really cool speed shifting, then destroying their engine by shifting from 2nd to 1st instead of 3rd when approaching the redline of 2nd gear.
My point is, Honda reliability, especially long term isn't as great as the image would suggest. Besides their bulletproof engines, the cars themselves are just as susceptible to break downs as many others, and the care one puts into a car is still the number one way to ensure a reasonably reliable car in the long run.
