Budget Hotels/Students' Hostels In New York City

Fri Dec 27, 2002 12:24 pm

I plan to visit New York City in early February. And I plan to stay in a budget hotel, or even a students' hostel like YMCA.

Can anyone recommend a cheap yet safe place for me to stay in New York??? What's the price range for a single room and a shared accommodation?

Awaiting your reply.

United Airline,

This must be about the 5th time you start exactly this topic! Why can't you check back your previous topics and the many replies you got. I doubt things have changed much in a few weeks.

I stand by my previous advice. Try to get the Grand Hyatt in MidTown East (or other good 4*/5*) for about $100 a night through http://www.Priceline.com (for advice try http://www.biddingfortravel.com ). I am sure that you will pay at least $70-80 for something in a crappy 1* or 2* located somewhere miles from the where you want to be so paying that little bit extra probably those pay.

What about the ones between $ 10-40? Are they safe?
