Magazine Junkies

Mon Dec 30, 2002 6:50 am

I love magazines. I mean, I love to read in general, books, online stuff, etc. but I can't help but subscribe to various magazines and then barely have the time to read them all. These are the mags I'm subscribed to:

Aviation Week
Airways
Airliners
Sports Illustrated
Esquire
Premiere
Urban Latino
Time

I also regularly read Maxim, GQ, Playboy, Conde Naste Traveller, Entertainment Weekly and an assortment or other mags that I pick up at the newstand, doctors office, plane, wherever.

What magazines do you read on a regular basis?

Yeah, magazines do have a charm of their own... there's something about the smell of the paper they are printed on!
I do understand you fully though, whenever I decide to buy Airliner World (mind you, a choice which is partly stimulated by a very attractive salesgirl at the shop I get it from), I barely find the time to skim through it, let alone read it!

I get:

Autoweek
Automobile
The Atlantic Monthly

Between the three that is enough pleasure reading for me.

Subscribe to:
Time
Newsweek
Sports Illustrated (Has the best writers by far of any magazine, especially their feature/in-depth stories, and Rick Reilly's column alone is enough to buy the magazine)
National Geographic (Best photographs and probably the one magazine I read cover to cover without skimming any pages)
American Hockey (comes with being a member of USA Hockey)

Buy at Newstands:
Maxim
The Economist
Airways
Airliners
People (I can't believe I am actually admitting to that)
D! Magazine (DFW area publication)
Texas Monthly

Read but not purchase:
Popular Science
Popular Mechanics
Adbusters
Entertainment Weekly
Airliner World
