Amazing, they were Americans, and they get your sympathies, ADG?

I'm happily shocked.

Just another example of the fact that you cannot negotiate or reason with these terrorists. They will kill anyone who they hate, and nothing will change that but their own deaths.

Frankly, what were these idiots doing in Yemen anyway?  Yeah sure

Okay, so they're humanitarian doctors & missionaries...blah blah blah.

In my books, if you visit a lawless country that is a hotbed of terrorism and anti-Western hatred, you're kinda looking for trouble.

Whatever.

I am sure these people were aware of the dangers and were prepared to sacrifice their lives for the chance they may be of service to others. Very noble, indeed.

Utterly pointless. Attacking military targets is one thing, but killing doctors? Pathetic.

So when is that senator that praised Osama bin Laden going to issue a statement about the valuable work these missionaries were doing?

This a saddening event, my sympathies towards the families of those involved.

Yyz717,

"Frankly, what were these idiots doing in Yemen anyway?"

Idiots?! Far from it, as Delta_Flyer said they were prepared to risk there lives to save the lives of others a very noble and honorable deed. Think especially about one of the victims who IIRC done this type of work in Yemen for 23 years think of how many lives were touched there work instead of hurling insults.

Okay, so they're humanitarian doctors & missionaries...blah blah blah.

Obviously, they have a lot more humanity in them than someone named Yyz717 on this board, that's for sure. It's easy to sit on your ass in Toronto and call people who were trying to help other people "idiots". I think we could make that word apply to those who critisize such people without walking in their shoes.

Are you sure you're not a Matt D clone or something?

Anyone who unnecessarily risks their life for a personal cause is indeed an idiot. They put their own missionary work ahead of their own well-being & as a result, their relatives will be grieving for years to come.

Mature, responsible adults have a responsibility to their loved ones not to put themselves at undue harm, however "noble" the cause.

they have a lot more humanity in them than someone named Yyz717 on this board, that's for sure.

Getting personal are we? Well, humanity starts at home. What have you done lately for the poor impoverished blacks in CLE? Helped out a soup kitchen? Volunteered at an inner city school? .......2 "no's" I bet. I wonder who is sitting on their ass then??????

If you don't like my point of view, then disagree, but don't get personal Alpha....you do not know me & likely never will. But I will gladly measure my volunteer work against anyone, particularly you.

Yyz717... ....you do not know me ....

You'd be surprised how much we (all of us on A.net who post regularly) reveal about ourselves. We may not know all the specifics, but we know more about you than you may imagine.

What about sarcasm? Being a devil's advocate? Being contrary (just for the sake of it)? Being on anet in a bad mood (or a good mood)?

None of this can be read into written prose.

No one on here really knows anyone until they meet.

Luckily, some people are interested to help others even if their own life is endangered, that's probably the main difference between an human being and an animal. It's called altruism.

Those Doctors deserve some respect, they've died because of their passport while trying to help those in need.

Maybe one day you will change your mind... the day when one of these ''idiots'' will save your life after an unexpected accident in a remote part of the world.
