How can you just "cancel" a war, especially since it hasn´t started yet.  Yeah sure

Tracy Ullman is a British comedienne who plays all different roles in various costumes. She's HILARIOUS!

Tracy also had a hit song in the 80's, where Sir Paul McCarthy made a cameo appearance.  Smile It was a cute little love song called "They Don't Know About Us", I think. I liked it. Maybe while I'm killing the kids by feeding them at McDonalds, someone can find a link to the song!  Big grin

I remember when Col Hogan and his gang ended World War II from the confines of their prison camp in "Hogan's Hero's"  Big thumbs up

Tracy Ullman sucks, she was cool for about a minute and a half in the late 80's/early 90's, but then everyone realized that most of her comedy stuff was of the British variety...and therefore not funny to the rest of the world outside of England. Watching her on old Comedy Central reruns is absolutely brutal.

I am going to find that song she sang.  Smile

Didn't The Simpson's make their debut on The Tracy Ullman Show? She's not all that bad in my opinion :-]

Fritzi... Fox news is the "global" news channel that is already convinced that we are already at war ! LOL...so they're the only ones that can declare the war "cancelled" ROTFLOL...

Well, Mandala, they ARE a de-facto wing of the Republican Party, so maybe President Bush has doled out that responsibility to them?  Big grin

they ARE a de-facto wing of the Republican Party,

If that is the case then most people hate to get their news from liberal networks (PMSNBC, CBS, NBC, CNN)... After all, FNC usually has either 5 of 5, or 4 of 5 of the top rated news programs nightly.

Don't forget the 1988 movie "A Fish Called Wanda." One of the funniest movies I've ever seen, definately one of the weirdest.

British TV comedy is frequently aimed at a slightly higher mental level than American TV. American TV seems to be aimed at about a 11-12 year old level. I mean the jokes and pranks are really basic. Roseanne was supposed to be funny ?!?

British comedy was aimed quite a bit higher. Things like BlackAdder and Yes, Minister seem to be beyond the grasp of most younger teens (my kids' age) who seem to think Friends is funny as hell, but seem to miss every single joke from British comedy (except Benny Hill). Just look at Yes, Minister - you pretty much have to have already an idea of what government and bureaucracies are like to appreciate it - and show me a teenager who does.

Yeah, I agree about Tracy Ullman and British comedy being aimed at older people and higher mentality. I for one LOVE British comedy, have for quite awhile, while I just don't get the American white-trash stuff like Beavis and Butthead and Roseanne.

Tracy Ullman IS funny to people outside of England...just to people with more of a sense of comedy than a bunch of fat people being crass.  Big grin

The song is "They Don't Know" and it was originally recorded by the late Kirsty Maccoll. Kirsty's version is far superior.

I love British comedy (Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers, and the original Dear John being my favorites) but I never found Tracy funny. We must, however, thank her for The Simpsons.
