Why not. But first the US will pay France to have free them from the British.

Go Canada, maybe France should send a bill to the US for having helped them to become independant ?
About the statue of Liberty, if you don't want it any more, ok, I'm ok to see her back in France. It's funny to see how some ppl in the US love to destroy some French symbols (wine, etc) to see how mad they are about us. But so why don't they try to destroy the Statue de la Liberté (yes, she's got a French name now, after all now the French fries are called freedom fries, why shouldn't the statue of liberty get a new name too) ?
Why don't the anti-French people ban surgical instruments (Ambroise Paré), mechanical calculator (Blaise Pascal), the car (the official first car which was steam-driven was made by Nicolas Cugnot), the hot air balloon (the Montgolfier brothers, the parachute, the lighter-than-air dirigible, thea"appertistation" and "pasteurisation" processes, the stethoscope, the hydrometer and alcoholometer, the printed language for the blinds, the gyroscope, the lead-acid battery, the movie camera, the neon lamp, the Minitel (it's not known around the world, only in Fance, but it's the first major public interactive computer network)...
If you want more:
http://www.enchantedlearning.com/inventors/france.shtml

http://www.fl-institut.com/french_inventions.htm

Of course, France is not a big country, the French people are surely not the best people in tje world. But France palyed its role in the history, although it seems to disappoint some of you. It's easy to make fun of a country you don't know. It's as easy as deciding torename "French fires" to "Freedom fries".
No, we the French people are not perfect. We made mistakes in the past and we'll make mistake in the future.
But no country, no people is greater or worse than us. We all have our qualities and our defaults.
Go Canada, to me an intelligent person is someone who can think farther than the usual "clichés", I hope you understand what I mean.

Journey your ass down to the Barrier Reef and go swim for a for about 20 minutes.

Don't you know that this is reserved only for American tourists? Take them out on a sightseeing cruise of the reef, and then "accidentally" leave them behind, and then sit back and wait for them to wash up on a beach somewhere in Fiji (or the like).

The same with taking American tourists out on sightseeing rivertrips in crocodile infested waters, only to tell them "Of course it is safe to swim", whilst your mate is scurrying around covering up the "No Swimming" and "DANGER: Crocodiles" signs

France is getting most of the abuse it deserves, there is room for more:

http://www.nytimes.com/2003/03/13/international/europe/13CND-BRIT.html

France rejected the UK's proposed solution before Iraq. France is not after disarmament at all.

Well, we can return the Statue of Liberty, because it was a gift. We paid for New Orleans fair and square.

Here is a quote from General George S. Patton of WWII fame.

I like to bash the French. It is fun, easy, and completely safe. They are the side of the proverbial barn. You can invade and they still may not fight.

All kidding aside, the French are a joke now. Their objectives are not clear. Before the Iraqis had a chance to reject the UK's proposal, France shot it down and thus closed the door on a possible alternative to war. Why?

It is apparent they are not serious about disarming Iraq. What is their objective? I do not even understand why they have voted in the past for resolutions requiring to disarm. They had zero intention of enforcing.

GWB may be a terrible speaker and a clumsy diplomat but he is the only reason that there are inspectors in Iraq. That is the bottom line. He has done the world a great service thus far. So has Tony Blair through his steadfast support.

GWB and Blair are leaders. They took firm and unpopular stands. Politicians don't do that often. Think about. Chirac and Villepin are just another two in a long succession of ass clowns that have made France a disgrace to the free world.

Their view or standpoint is actually quite simply. They make more money off of Saddam being in power than any other country period end of statement. The don't want to see that come to an end.

An interesting vote is coming up in Congress. Congressmen and women are writing a resolution that would ban any and all French companies from post-Saddam Iraq. If you don't help get rid of him, then you don't get any economic windfall.

I don't think the French are driven by the money they could make in Iraq. That is a small part of the equation but not the main driver. This is about who sets the agenda and controls the flow of events. I think France is opposed to war because it is US-led and not because of any purported interest in 'peace.' They are not stupid people. At some level, they realize that Saddam cannot be talked out of his weapons. But they are more afraid of living in a world dominated by the US (and where France is irrelevant) than they are of living in a world in which Saddam could hold his region his hostage through WMD or pass them onto terrorists.

Their preoccupation with maintaining a high profile in international affairs has crossed the line from simply being annoying to actually endangering any possibility of a peaceful resolution.

I hope there is someone sane left in Paris that realizes what is going on.

I'm sure Eastern Europe is sick of that clown. Chirac has yet to apologize to them for calling them "not well brought up" and telling them that "they missed a good opportunity to shut up". Like I said, an immature and pissed off clown. Kinda like Dubya, if you don't see his way, he shoots his mouth off. Forget Iraq, lets do regime change in France.

French policy over the years has been very-pro Arab, and has been a supporter of Iraq for many years. Jacques Chirac was France's Foreign Minister at the time that they sold the Iraqi government the nuclear reactor that was later destroyed by the Israelis, and Chircac picked up the moniker "Jacques Iraq" during this time period. France was one of the last countries to support force against Iraq in order to liberate Kuwait; Total ELF Fina, a French oil conglomerate has multi-billion dollar deals with Iraq and the Hussein regime, and these deals would be worthless if Hussein falls, the French want the Iraqis oil more than anyone else. France has violated the spirit of numerous UN resolutions on Iraq (including the embargo against Iraq) and the next UN resolution (the one that's been rumored for a week now) is the 18th resolution regarding Iraq since 1990, and maybe that's about 16 too many. France opposed the creation of the UN program that sent UN weapons inspectors into Iraq (but years later, France now wants to give the inspectors more time). Really the argument is not France vs. the US, it's the U.S. versus the European Union. With France and Germany controlling the law making bodies in the European Union, they are forcing their opinions on fellow Europeans that support the U.S. in the Iraqi situation. The Iraq issue is just the latest in a string of conflicts between the U.S. and the E.U.

20% voted for a Communist
20% voted for a racist, facist, Nazi spewing fella

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, stop the presses right there. 40% of the people are off their rockers to begin with.
