Geraldo Rivera Kicked Out

Tue Apr 01, 2003 10:09 am

No, not by the Iraqis. By the US. For giving away secrets! We report. You Decide! .....(I think CENTCOM decided!)

How fun a time did that CNN copy writer have?

Word is Fox is negotiating with Peter Arnett.

I detest Jerry Rivers. (His real name) He is a waste of space.

When did he join Fox? I thought he was still at MSNBC coveting Tom Brokaw's job. I guess it goes to show being a serious reporter isn't all it's cracked up to be...

First Arnett and now Rivera. Boy. I am really laughing now!

This is the best quote. A U.S. Central Command official said, "He is being pulled. He just doesn't know it yet. He has not gotten the word."

Moral: Don't draw maps and don't be an ass. (Rivera and Arnett respectivley)

FUN FUN FUN!

Now, back the real world.  Smile

I guess CNN made it all up, FOX and the pentagon are denying that it ever happened.

I've met Geraldo, he used to come into the pet store I worked in about 7 years ago.

He's about 5'9, pretty well built (made me think of the time he boxed Frank Stalone), with lots of tatoos.

He would buy about $1500 dollars worth of Koi, make us pack it in his Toyota Land Cruiser, no tip either.

He also wanted a discount because he was a celebrity, he said because he went there more people would.

He lived in a huge house on the Navsink river in Middletown twp NJ right across from Rumson and Red Bank. His neighbors on river road included Jon Bon Jovi and Maury Polvich and Connie Chong.

However Geraldo got caught cheating on his wife so they sold their house. Now he has a condo/town house in Edgewater NJ, right next to the George Washington bridge by CNBCs studios.

STT757,

Your post confirms my impression of him. He is a narcissistic scumbag.

Geraldo hasn't been kicked out. At least according to the news I've followed all day. Though he did call NBC "stupid" for starting this rumor. And after seeing some FOX news today, it appears that he's still there.

Why was this tabloid-TV airhead ever sent to Iraq in the first place? He has no credibility.

Might as well send Arsenio Hall or Montel Williams.

I used to like watching his CNBC show, he's a lawyer and very good at doing interviews with other lawyers, victims etc.

He should go back to doing that kind of show.

Geraldo has not been a serious journalist for at least 20 years. And Fox "news"? Sure. And Sadaam is a kind charitable person.

More proof that Fox News should be called "the official Republican press agency"......

Raging Republican heavyweight Roger Ailes, Fox News pres, calls in some favors with his buddies in the Administration to "save face" for his network after one of their reporters endagers US servicemen by sketching out on global television the coming tactical game plan...

http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/04/01/sprj.irq.geraldo/index.html

And the Post goes on further to report the cozy lil' "Who?Us? Nahhhhh..." deal the scumbag propagandists at Fox have done with the right wing power structure presently suffocating our country:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A903-2003Apr1.html

Richard Hanley, an assistant professor of communications at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut who has been monitoring the war coverage, accused Rivera of "giving away operational information that could lead to the death of American servicemen. He's a cowboy. He wants to be part of the gang. He wants to get in the dirt and draw. . . . Fox should do the right thing and fire him, much as NBC fired Arnett."

But they haven't, have they? The so called "liberal media" at NBC drops Arnett like third period French, but the Stars & Stripes forever channel still has this thick nosed assh*le on payroll. And Fox News will continue to bullsh*t you on how patriotic and "balanced" they are.

And you'll keep buying it.

He should be booted out, if for no other reason than being like an overgrown, overexcited jack-rabbit.
I saw a clip of one of his Afghanistan 'reports', seems his portrayal in the 'Doonesbury' cartoon was not far off the mark.
If his, and Fox's style of news is common, a lot of people are in for a wake up call when it comes to taking Baghdad.
