Do you have a DVD player? What sort?

I have 3, a Palsonic and 2x pioneer. One of the Pioneers died and I had to pay $199 to fix it ...  Wow!

I have over 500 DVD's, anyone else collect them?

do you have problems with DVD "rot"? I've not had one instance of it, but others complain all the time about it. What do you think?

I have an APEX AD-1500 DVD player. I just got it for christmas so I only have 8 DVD's:

-Joy Ride
-Monsters Inc.
-The Origional Kings of Comedy
-The Ring
-Mesmerized
-The Telephone
-Swordfish
-Changing Lanes

I really hate the fact that most DVD's come in "Widescreen" instead of full.

America West!

ack, don't buy into that Pan n scan crapola!

Widescreen is the way to go, at least you see the whole movie, not 2/3rds of it with Full screen.

I have Pioneer multiregion and a PS2.

Probably around 100 DVD's and about 30 VCD's.

The Pioneer is hooked up to my Sony AC3 (dolby 5.1) decoder / amp.

Cheers,

I have 2 DVD drives in my PC (didn't know how to kill the region lock when I got the first one), both from Panasonic.

I have 15-20 DVD's, and plan on getting more - and my most recent DVD buy was "The Simpsons: Backstage Pass".

I have a cheap Toshiba right now but I'm hoping to upgrade to a nice Panasonic RP-82 or RP-92 with progressive scan, or maybe even a Denon DVD changer if I ever strike it rich. Also right now I've only got a 2 channel stereo reciever with a 12" subwoofer playing summed mono so I need to save up for a 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 reciever and some more speakers for surrounds and a center channel.

Here's basically my entire setup, the first two are pictures of the sub. I built the enclosure from scratch out of the 3/4" MDF.

I only own half a dozen DVD's so far but I rent them quite often.

What sort of Pioneer Mx5, I had a 535 which had a major memory failure and cost me $199 to fix >:-0 .. now I have a 355 which isn't as good but has 5 years warranty ... It wouldn't play a DVD the other day and i'm unsure of wether it's the DVD or the player at fault. That's really quite irritating.
