In last night's episode in the USA the Enterprise was swallowed by a massive alien vessel. The crew of the Enterprise were then harassed by some "wisps" which were able to "possess" them. The crew had to figure out how to escape both the wisps and their giant spaceship.

I realize that it sounds a little more foolish than it actually was.

It was an okay episode. Plot was a little whispy, though.  Laugh out loud
Why - What was the last episode you saw there in Australia?

I haven't seen them here, I get them off the net. Last episode I saw had the captain on the prison ship.

As a huge Star Trek fan, I've considered Enterprise, but I've just heard so many negative things about the series that I'm reluctant....

What are everyone's thoughts on the show, compared to TNG, DS9 & Voyager?

As a long time Trekker, the plot of Enterprise seems weak and wasn't nearly as riveting as TNG (duh) and manages to even be worse than VOY. I can only hope that it gets better soon. This week's plot, for example, seems more like two different TNG episodes rolled together (and instead of Data being immune because he's a machine, Phlox was)--come on, Rick Berman, can't we have something original?!

I love enterprise .. it's pretty cool. It lacks all the cool technology and stuff but it's all about the people, the places and it looks at issues such as what is right and wrong etc.

Not to keen on the Vulcan though .. she's a bit of a shocker.

I have mixed feelings about Enterprise. Some of the episodes really stink, while some of them are fairly good. The nice catch about this series is that since it is supposed to depict humankind's first venture into deep space, it shows the crew blundering around, making all the mistakes that are supposed to have been eliminated by the time of TNG and Voyager. I enjoy the aspect of the Enterprise's crew not knowing what the hell they're getting into.

Some comments on the characters. In general, they're a bit one-sided. Captain Archer this season has been very short-tempered and grouchy--I'm really hoping the character will get laid soon so he'll mellow out! Maybe I hadn't really noticed initially, but his Kirk-inspired enunciation is now really starting to bother me. The vulcan T'Pol isn't lacking in emotions; she's just surly. Malcolm is whiny and fatalistic, Hoshi too timid and lacking in self-confidence. Oddly, I've come to like Trip more over time, even though he still reminds me of Dubya just a little. My favorite character is probably Doctor Phlox.

Recently I've come to appreciate the later episodes of Voyager a little more.

T'Pol has got a cute little bubble butt too.

I actually really enjoy Enterprise. I have given up on making any real connections with it to the rest of the series... afterall it is just a TV show. B/c if you do, you start getting confused, like how did the Vulcans go from being a militaristic race to Earth's lap dog. Doesn't make sense. Even for the second season I think the show has developed better than the other series, especially TNG and VOY at this point. Now that I've seen some of the early TNGs from season one and two, and those things are downright campy and silly. Which is probably due to Rodenberry's influence.

The one very good thing about the human characters in Enterprise is that they are decidedly human at this point... not superhuman in the other series.

Those are either inplants of costume effects  Laugh out loud I prefer au naturel  Big thumbs up
speaking of natural - I saw her doing an interview and was surprised to see her with blonde hair. She's attractive and all, but, ummm.... I find her a bit too slender. What was it that Lt. Whorf once said - "Human females are much too fragile..."  Laugh out loud

I like the series and I followed Voyager (after they got done with the f**king Caisson's and Videan's every other damn week). I thought the series finale ending was a bit anti-climactic but it was a good series. The same can be said for Enterprise but I think the story lines need to get stronger to keep te show running.

They need to focus more on the development of the technologies that we consider "Star Trek" and less on the Suliban (who, coincidentally, to my knowledge, were gone by the time TOS came around, which begs the question, what happened to them and the "Temperal Cold War"?)

I liked the idea of a series based in Star Fleet Academy, pity that didn't happen.

Anybody noticed any irregularities in these series that contradict other episodes.

Kinda like the change in Klingons over the years

That quote of Worf reminded me of one of the funniest quotes I've ever heard in Star Trek. In the TNG episode Qpid, Worf said to Q “I’m NOT a merry man!”. Lt. Worf had some of the best lines in TNG.

I’m currently on season 6 of DS9 & still on season 3 of Voyager, so after I’m done watching both shows, I’ll start watching Enterprise. I’m eager to see the latest Star Trek creation, despite the overwhelming negativity of some of the reviews I've read.

TNG was such an outstanding show. I recently watched it all over again on DVD. The first two seasons were a bit iffy (there were still some great episodes though, like Q Who), the actors didn’t really feel comfortable in their roles until towards the end of season 2, but it ended up a brilliant show. The show had a great premise, very engaging characters and intelligent & intriguing stories. The special effects were great & they were enhanced on DVD.

Patrick Stewart & Brent Spiner were simply terrific as Captain Picard & Lt. Cmdr. Data. They are both superb actors & they’re in a different league compared to the rest of the cast.

I have to admit it.

Terry Farwell was hot in DS9.

Didn't think that much of her after her move to "Becker"
