Hiya!

What is your favourite part of a whole roast chicken?

I love the chicken legs and breast meat.

Give me skin though!

Correction after reality check.

Usually whatever is left after the girl (11) gets first choice, boy (9) gets second choice, and Wife (younger than me) gets third choice. It was so much easier when they were younger http://www.beyond.net.au/rgstewart/Dak.jpg and didn't get a choice!

So the truthful answer is the Parson's Nose.

There is a really naughty joke to be inserted here but I won't be the one to do it. In fact, I should not have used the word "inserted" at all!

In the US we call it the "Pope's Nose"...particularly on turkeys.
I'm not sure why. But interesting that it's referred to as a nose....

I like the skin, it's probably the worst thing you can eat but it's real tasty.

I stopped eating chicken after I visited an abbattoir. Ever seen chicken get processed? It's disgusting.....feathers and feces everywhere....

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

YYZ717;
You'll have to describe that process to me sometime. I've never been one to order chicken at resturants, though... for that very reason. If it's not a real bird with bones and wings I don't trust it.
By the way, I'm a leg man myself. AKA the drumbstick  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Definately the Drumstick, followed by the fact that someone else cooks it

No, but the feces literally flies everywhere. So when you cook the chicken, you also cook the feces. Bon apetite.

I ususally wash the feces off before cooking, although I have heard that the feces tend to taste a little like chicken anyways, so what the heck.

Yyz,

I used to be married to a Meat Inspector whos job it was to police the abbottoirs, now I can't comment on how they behave where you are but here in Australia we have laws that cover the handling of food which are heavily policed.

Perhaps you should consider introducing similar laws?

Why don't you take the pickle out? Or is it a crowbar???

Oh ... I see. Where I come from attempts at humour are generally followed by a smiley face to indicate such.

On the basis of that and given the knowledge that you guys refer to "it" as "meat" (something we don't), then it probably is quite funny.

A job however, better suited for someone who is not hetrosexual.

Some may not classify it as "part" of a Roast Chicken but what about the stuffing? Done nicely it can be excellent.

Personally it used to be called Bishop's Nose by my parents - Parson was probably too complex and caused grave religious debate at the dinner table. Perhaps that's why none of us kids became religious. Anyway (today) in my household - the arse, as it is now known, always goes to the cat.. *meow*

I, on the other hand, am impartial to a bit of leg and if done just right the wing.

ADG,

Our food handling techniques are a little different to those of North America and Europe. We tend not to have massive processing plants and they also tend not to be staffed by very uneducated and very poorly paid people.

But you would be shocked to discover how some foodstuffs are processed overseas. That is not to say the same thing won't happen here if we let it.

If chickens are not kept in a humane environment with plenty of space they carry all sorts of diseases and viruses to slaughter which is why you should always buy *free range*.

You risk your families health by feeding them food products that *may* contain antibiotics or growth hormones which are dangerous to humans, can have unwarranted side effects later in life and also damage the environment by making nasty bugs become resistant to our anitbiotics.

And processed chicken? *don't even go there*

*shudders*

A great stuffing for a roast chook is minced garlic, onion and thyme - shove it up the chooks bum then seal it with a couple of slices of white bread.

You can use some of the stuffing in the gravy - but I wouldn't eat it - however your whole roast chook has the most delicious flavour through it after cooking. *yum*

Ah .. yum cha.....

spent plenty of time hanging around abbatoirs so i'm pretty up to date on how the Aussies handle food, the laws here are very strict and are policed by the "meat inspectors (some may laugh but our meat is bonza)".

Yeah can verify that.

Some plants almost have Pharmaceutical manufacturing like conditions of cleanliness.
