Iraq Threatens "Uconventional" Attack Tonight

Sat Apr 05, 2003 12:39 am

Just on CNN-the Iraqi Minister of Information Of A Government That Doesn't Exist, says Iraq will carry out an unconventional, but non-military attack on Coalition forces tonight.

Possible. But this is the same dork who said that the U.S. forces wasn't within 100 miles of Baghdad yesterday.  Smile

Probably a bluff, but if this is a hint at a WMD attack, then whatever sympathies Iraq has with most of the world will wilt away.

Bluff I think, if he wants to hurt the American soldiers, he would not have warned them. Now they have time to dress them with their special packs.

It may not be WMD's, though, Sabena. That is one possibility, I grant you, but what about a wave of suicide attacks? A bunch of Arabs from other countries have been trying to get to Baghdad. That could be a possibility also.

Either way, it's definitely the last, desperate gasp of a regime that is already in the dustbin of history.

Sabena_690. It is only a matter of seconds to get your gask mask on once the chemical siren sounds, and not much more to throw on a chemical suit. I've had plenty of practice on this one!

That has always been something that has worried me.

Sure we all knew they would lose but at what cost, and how long would the ramifications keep hitting the USA

Lets just hope they don't have a nuke and take everything out when the Americans walk into town.

I think they Iraqi leadership is very nervous, a journalist that covered the war with Iran said that they never used these kind of insults then, even in moments of
heavy losses.
Chemical and Biological weapons are dangerous, could hurt the users and their
families as well, so I don´t think they will try.
I heard that 3 allied soldiers died today when they stopped a car with a male
and pregnant female (or perhaps a female that tried to look like she was pregnant?), then blow a car-bomb, may the unlucky 3 rest in peace...

The Americans announced that they will use small kern weapons if they are attacked with WMD's...

You are right Alpha, I forgot those suicide bombers. But would they ever be able to run in the camps of the American soldiers, and blow up themselves - launch small missiles...?

With this announcement, the Americans will certainly take additional safety measures. The only thing the Iraqis can do is launch rockets or so...

But let's not speculate, wait and see first.

Kern weapons????

What is a Kern weapon?

Are you talking about that policy that says if WMD's are used against us we reserve the right to retaliate with whatever is in our arsenal?

"Martin Sheen will be the Master of ceremonies, with Mike Moore providing his own brand of unique fictional commentary."

And once we send all those boring blowhards like Babs home and the party is over we can have Nuremberg-style trials for Saddam and his friends. Like Rummy, Richard Perle, and all those other purveyors of WMDs to Saddam and his thugs.

Puts a damper on your party celebrations, doesn't it? But then some of us weren't asleep through the 80s when every hideous dictator's rear end was being kissed by the Reagan/Bush administration.

With the troops already in Baghdad, that eliminates the use of nukes. That might have been what the Iraqi forces were waiting for before they went for the chem/bio option.

Alpha 1, rumor has it the unconvention attack is coming in the form of Iraq hiring TSA to do the screening at Baghdad Int'l. It will bog the soldiers down for several hours.

but I don't think it will happen in Baghdad, but rather in the hearts and the minds of the people of the world.

Just wishful thinking from a bitter anti-American.

The US will soon liberate Iraq, much to the consternation of the angry & the bitter anti-American racists.

I really hope this attack is as unconventional as that "historic" speech saddam did was historic...That speech pissed me off. I was all ready to go to bed when I saw on CNN that he was going to make a "historic" speech, so I decided to stay up another hour or so to listen to it. Talk about a waste of time.

I reckon it really be unconventional ...

It would be unconventional to threaten an attack and then not do it  Laugh out loud .. convention generally has an attack occuring after a threat.

I suspect nothing will happen, bit like the whole switch over from 1999 - 2000. We'll all be sitting here waiting for something to happen and it won't.

and a whole bunch of people who post in these forums will be really upset, whining about the lack of killing.

BTW, wsant this war about disarming Iraq of its WMD's? Well, with 60% of the coutnry having been overrrun by the mercenaries, they should have found atleast SOMETHING shouldnt they? Or does it not matter anymore?

Mr.Najaf has clearly mentioned that unconventional doesnt mean using NBC weapons. He means guerilla warfare type strikes, and these indeed could be the best way for the Iraqi's to save their country from the invading mercenaries.

"Mohalla committees" of civilians, headed by Republican Guard or Baath party heads should organise and could make the fight for Baghdad an American nightmare. Baghdad could very well become a graveyard for the American mercenaries.

And a desperate Bush could very well be the first to use WMD's!

Remember: It isnt over yet! And this war wont end even with the fall of Baghdad! That would be the beginning of a war so bloody that GWB and his cronies would rue the day they decided to start out on something so foolish!

Only in deformed and feverish minds like yours is this war about giving Iraqi's "civilized" futures!

So what are you trying to say, that Iraqi's are not civilized? That white men are needed to civilize the world? That in itself says a lot about you!

Why do you hate them so, Roy?

Well, it's daylight in Baghdad, and guess what? No "unconventional" attack of any type from the Iraqi forces loyal to the Ghost of Saddam. Just like the talk of the US being bogged down hundreds of miles south of Baghdad at the very time SDA fell, it's just more Iraqi hot air.

And, looking at the video from Fox and CNN, there doesn't seem to be much of anyone left in Baghdad.

Yeah, I heard this on the news yesterday, and chalked it up to more Iraqi blowing of hot air and absurd rhetoric. Funny how that seems to be the only thing Iraqi officials are good at - promising devastating attacks that never occur, and declaring victory when they are getting their a**es whooped.

I think the lack of a serious response from Saddam and sons is a good indicator there was never really any threat from WMDs to begin with.
