I won't shed a tear for Saddam when it happens, but where exactly does it say it is "HIGHLY LIKELY" he's dead?

Is this just more propaganda? How many times have they said they killed this guy? Maybe they oughta make sure first.

Here is the quote from the story: "they said it was highly likely that he and his sons were dead if they were still there when the bombs hit."

BTW, It's not "Way to go George" but rather, "Way to go to all the hundreds of thousands of coalition troops who have put their lives on the line to accomplish a common goal." Screw George Bush.

It's highly likely then that Bush would be dead IF he was in there too. That goes for me, or you or anyone else. So where does it say it is highly likely Saddam is dead?

Airplay: Chill, man. Highly likely he was there. All the news channels are going with it.

So where does it say it is highly likely Saddam is dead?

Hey Airplay, do you know how to read?

The sources would not rule out the possibility that Saddam could have moved before the bomber struck, but they said it was likely that he and his sons were dead.

George Bush didn't do shit, Sleekjet. He ignored the rest of the world to show everyone he has big gonads, and went to war. The "atta boy" should go to the troops, not the idiots who sent them to war.

Having said that, Airplay, reports are that the U.S. had real-time intelligence, and knew he was there, and knew almost exactly where he was in the building, from what I've seen on CNN and Fox. If the intel is as reliable as is being told, then they got the bastard.

Yes I can read. Thank you. Where does it say that it was "highly" likely Saddam was dead? Can you read NWA742....

I really didn't intend to make a big point of this...but the topic title is sort of inaccurate. It spins the whole story a bit.

It's a subtle difference , but I'd rather be likely dying than "Highly Likely" dying.

Ok, it doesn't say "highly", big freakin deal Airplay. It's not like every other news channel is saying "highly" or anything like that, right?

Open your eyes.  Insane

Blah blah blah yada yada yada.

You're simply denying credibility again Airplay, because it's another possible score for the US.

I swear if they were to find Saddam and hang him out in the streets of Baghdad with cameras everywhere, you'd still be denying it.

As I have always said, if this was Klintoon or Al Bore, the liberals would be the biggest cheer leaders for the war. Since it is a Republican President, they're opposed to it 100%.

Let's hope Saddam and his sons are dead, so this war can be over and our troops can come home safely.

B757300, guess what? Clinton and Gore are NOT in office, Bush is. I don't care who's the president, if he's doing a lousy job, then he deserves criticism. You need to get over your rants about liberals, man. They are just absurd.

Wrong, B757300. Like a good Conservative ,you see things in simpleton terms. I would have opposed this war no matter who would have been President. It's amazing you demand respect for Bush, when you give none to anyone else, simply because they, wisely, don't agree with you.

Any way you slice it, going to war was wrong, be it Gore, Clinton or Bush calling the shots. It makes you feel like a macho man, I know, B757300, but it doesn't make it right.

I hope to hell we got Saddam, and we can get the killing over with. Again, I can see some of you really get your rocks off on this war, but that's your problem.

I'm not criticizing Bush over the war, all I'm saying is that the congrats on "killing" (if indeed he is dead) goes to those who are risking their lives, not Bush. But, I don't think Bush has done that good of a job as a president in the first place anyway. And I'm a very conservative liberal and I voted for him.

It was "highly" likely that Bush actually lost the election. It is "highly" likely Bush pursued this war for the oil. It is highly likely Bush will not be reelected.

It is likely that many will get pissy and reply to my post with some insult...No wait. Make that "highly" likely.....

Airplay, it's highly likely that, for some reason that escapes most of us, you're having trouble dealing with the death of a tyrant. Why?

Nope...I already stated I wouldn't shed a tear for this guy. I'm just trying to figure out how authoritative this report is. It's not the first time reports like this have been wrong.

Oh really?

Then why is it that, when news such as Coalition casualties--or anything bad on the US' side--comes out, you never question the reliability of the same sources you are questioning now?

Seems as though you are only hearing what you want to, and ignoring what you don't want to hear.

That's a pretty sweeping accusation. Have any proof? And remember...you said "anything bad on the US side".

I consider the source of any news I read or hear. I have stated (in other posts) that I always consider the truth somewhere in the middle between Al Jazeera and CNN etc....

The proof is your lack of questioning the reliability of those sources right after news such as those mentioned comes out.

Ah...I guess those sources are easy to verify. Is it your habit to judge someone guilty based on LACK of evidence?

It's not a lack of evidence.

It's an accusation based on things I've read from you.

The lack of your questioning on those news topics is the proof, it's not a lack of "evidence". It's a lack of doing something that you do on other topics.

Whoa, we had to get to post #25 before someone asked the question:
What if Saddam wasn't there, and all we got is a bunch of dead civilians? After all, it was 4 bombs, each tolling around 900 kgs, that hit residential areas. That's not a good mix.

CPH-R, again, for the millionth time, whehter you and I like it or not, civilians do die in war. That's not a callous statement, but a fact. If some civiians died, then that sucks, but it doesn't stop what the mission is.
