Where To Buy Reasonable Priced Laptops? (in UK)

Fri Apr 11, 2003 10:32 pm

Hello,

I want to buy a laptop in the very near future. Most likely in about a month or two.
I do want to buy a very good one with at least 2,6 GHZ processor and you name it in it.
But where do I have to go in the UK to buy a reasonable proced laptop.
A friend said got to pc world but according to there website they are pretty expensive?
Anybody got any good tips for me.
Thanx for your help

I live in Guernsey so London would be the easiest.
Am not really bothered by a specific brand but I would like a new one.

Just make sure that the processor is an Intel® processor!!

Hell...why not splash out and go for the new Intel® Centrino® Wireless Technology.

I do have to say that 2.6 gigs is absolutly pointless. It burns far to much energy, your batterylife is going to be horrible and the heat is tremendous. I have messed with a sony 2.6 and an Alienware 3.06gig and can say its pointless. There is virtualy no difference in performance between a 2000+ athlon and a 2.6 P4. Also the 2.0 AMD or Intel comp. will cost over 500 less. Use the extra for upgrades you wouldn't get with either.

GR325,
If you want to contact me away from this bitch-fest, I'll be happy to advise you personally. I run a company which specialises in such deals - my last one last week was to buy a private client a brand new dogs bollocks P4 laptop (Compaq) for less than 75% purchase price.
I have all the contacts to get you the laptop you want.
Drop me a note and we can fix something up.
Cheers.

"Reasonably priced" in the "UK"

Isn't that an oxymoron?  Wink/being sarcastic
