That's probably because you wanted to believe every single word this guy was saying, Airplay. You know, anyone who flips his finger at the evil U.S. is OK in your book, right Airplay? You're officially out there with Baghdad Bob's confirmer of Information, Roy, in your total lack of reality.
Reread my post. I didn't say I believed him or that he was OK
. I'm merely saying that his behaviour is typical of a politician.
Are you denying that these people suffered under Saddam, Airplay? Seen the news lately, of celebrations all over Iraq that he's gone? Seen the pictures of his statues and pictures being destroyed all over the country? Seen the images of whole brigades in the North laying down their arms and walking home, not willing to fight for him? Seen the pictures of his torture chambers, wtih fingerprints of those his henchmen killed?
Again, I didn't say they weren't suffering. Perhaps the reading comprehension course I suggested top YYZ717 is in order....
By the way...seen the pictures of a looter being beaten by other Iraqis? Seen the pictures of the people languishing in understaffed hospitals with no medicine? Seen any other part of town on CNN besides the Shiaa predominant Saddam city? Seen the Turks amassing on the border to quell the Kurds of a possible uprising? Seen the total anarchy that was induced by an invasion force that didn't have the brains to have policing forces on hand? Heard the anguished crys from Iraqis of "Is this what you call liberation America?" Seen the "walls of protection" the coalition forces are forming around the oil wells in northern Iraq while the population goes "unprotected"?
Seen the report of 65 suicide troops captured in a vehicle that is probablly just an idication of things to come?
Alpha1, for the most part you're a reasonalbe guy. Don't be blinded by what seems like a victory just yet. Victory is a long ways away and the region is incredibly unstable right now. We just have to hope that fighting doesn't spill over the borders and the coalition can convince the Sunni that they didn't just come to liberate the Shiia and convince the Kurds that now is not the appropriate time to conplicate things by trying to secure a new homeland...
