Hans Blix, Do Us A Favor And Shut Up Already!

Sun Apr 13, 2003 11:30 pm

Hans Blix the former chief weapons inspector for the United Nations, described Gen. Sadi (Iraq's chief scientist)"extremely knowledgeable and businesslike". He also says that Tariq Aziz Iraqi deputy prime minister always injected politics into discussions about the inspections where Sadi did not. However, Blix also said Gen Sadi's claim that Iraq destroyed all its chemical and biological weapons in the summer of 1991 "had no credibility".

OK fine, but then...

Blix, who headed the "final" round of weapons inspections in Iraq, lashed out against the U.S.-led war in remarks to a Spanish daily newspaper. "There is evidence that this war was planned well in advance. Sometimes this raises doubts about their attitude to the [weapons] inspections," He told El Pais.

So Blix is now the expert on U.S. contingency plans in case he found weapons of mass destruction? Please!

Well, perhaps Mr. Blix if you had six more months of inspections you would have found them. Then what? Well... then what? That waiting game is over. You failed and there was no more time to wait.(obviously, heh!)

Retire already and fade away and realized you and your U.N. buddies failed in TWELVE YEARS to make Saddam give it all up.

Blix is another one who tries to have his cake and eat it too. Except, he has no cake and he isn't even sitting at a table!

Enjoy your retirement. Ask Kofi to join you.

Didn't he give an interview on MTV and said that "global warming is a far worse problem than wmds in Iraq"?

People should really stick to their jobs and not become politicians and world leaders because they have the opportunity to do so.

Oh well, his 15 minutes are up...

Ahh....another thread where Clipperhawaii suggests that someone shutup. He typically bases these posts on questionable or silly quotes of the target entity. When will he then post a suggestion that Bush shuts up? There is no shortage of information available on the internet to refer to.

This war was planned before the last "chad" was improperly punched.....

A chad cannot be improperly punched. A chad is the result of a punch.

Unless of course you are in N'Djamena! LOL

A basic analysis in military terms will show, clearly that the intention to invade was there.

America would attack, whatever it took.

Not attacking would mean inevitable defeat in elections.

You can't start an operation with the dimension of the Iraq's invasion without many months of planning (even so, there where disastrous errors, which consequences we are watching today)

You couldn't wait more time. The summer is coming. In the next two months, the storms are going to be far more frequent.

The equipment is already suffering, the operationality of the force in desert storm conditions is very reduced (as the unforeseen storm in the second week of the war demonstrated)

Mr. Blix, would only be loved in America if he actually found something.

It is curious how the US officials said that they had concrete evidence. They were absolutely sure.

A UK's official, said before the ear, that there was undeniable evidence of WMDS's. Last week, the same official said, quote:
"... I hope they find some WMD's..."

It is funny, how people that were incredibly well informed about the WMD's are now wishing they can find them.

Mr. Blix's inspectors in Iraq were undermined by the Pentagon from the beginning. Rumsfeld didn't want any inspectors in the first place.

When it became obvious nobody was finding anything they decided to pull the carpet.

Besides, time was running out. Part of the troops would need to be sent back in the last week of March and the first week of April.

Waiting more time, would mean having thousands of soldiers waiting in Kuwait for another four to six months. Reservists wanting to go home.

It would mean families wanting their relatives back.

War had to start in March 2003. Whatever it took.

And it did.

Mr. Blix has all the right to prove his point. He was not given the opportunity to continue. Each day that goes on without clear proof of WMD's, (Not counting FOX hoaxes in which nobody believes anymore) increases Mr. Blix's credibility.

"People should really stick to their jobs and not become politicians and world leaders because they have the opportunity to do so."

Apply that to the owner of multiple failed Texan business ventures as well.

"Retire already and fade away and realized you and your U.N. buddies failed in TWELVE YEARS to make Saddam give it all up."

So where are they? And why should Hans Blix shut up? Because some guy in Hawaii tells him to do so? Yeah, right. Mr. Blix has to a large extent been proven right. The world's largest military power invades a country purportedly possessing WMDS in spite of contrary indications by the world's most powerful intelligence agency, and lo and behold, nothing has been found. And can the discussions about vats of antharx hiding under cow sheds in rural Iraq. Anyone with a tiny modicum of knowledge about biotechnology will tell you that aint possible. And as far as the UN imposed sanctions go, they damn well succeeded. Iraq was prevented from rebuilding its military, was made to destroy its weapons plants including its nuclear program. It was amusing to watch Bush change his phony paean of WMDs from "nuclear, biological, chemical" to "biological and chemical" after indulging in the usual scare tactics of Iraq having the big N or the big A.

I love America, but when will Americans live up to thier enviable values and stop telling people to shut up?
