Who Do You Trust?

Mon Apr 14, 2003 9:49 am

Do you trust:

The CIA or the IRS?

The FBI or your local police force?

The Bush Administration or your local government?

Pravda or CNN?

George Bush or Colin Powell?

Please don't flame me.

Depends on the degree of trust required. What's at stake? Kind of an uncomplete and vague question.

Who do you trust for things like security, information, policy-making, money-handling, etc.

Toss up,
FBI,
Bush (which is more of a sad commentary on my local government)
CNN? No way. And who is Pravada?
Powell by a large margin

I try not to flame anyone, but sometimes they ask for it.

BTW, Pravda is some kind of Russian newspaper (less credible than FOX News)

Their website is http://www.pravda.ru

Poorly worded question. If it asked "who do you trust more", and trying to think as an American:

1. CIA - All propaganda aside, there are many very good people there. The IRS are just a bunch of bureaucrats with bean-counting degrees and with an incentive to rip you off.

2. FBI - Entry standards are quite strict, as are the rules of behaviour. Any local redneck can get himself elected sheriff if he can get enough of his pool-hall buddies to vote for him.

3. Well my local government is Geneva Switzerland, and I don't trust them more than I could trust Saddam Hussein. No opinion.

4. CNN International can be pretty partial sometimes, but it is easy to recognize if you don't depend on a single source. I've never read Pravda so I wouldn't know, but I expect old habits die hard.

5. Powell.
The only thing you should feel when shooting a terrorist: Recoil.
