What should I look for when registering a domian name. Do I just shop for the lowest price?

Interface is king, customer support number 2 IMO.

The best IMO is Go Daddy, probally the cheapest prices a good interface to manage the domain. Just don't buy all the optional services most are useless. Now as far as hosting, I like Pow Web. Real good and real cheap, heck I believe they even advertise on Airliners.net.

Oh if you choose PowWeb, tell them lazyeights.net sent you, I get a $15 referal credit.
At worst, you screw up and die.

[1] Lowest price

[2] What features. Usually, it comes with:
- 1 free "you@yourdomain.com" e-mail? or 10 free e-mail addy (awaiting creation) under your domain?
- Microsoft FrontPage 2000 (and 2002) extensions. If you ever use this WhatYouSeeIsWhatYouGet web-page creation program aka FrontPage, you can easily do a web-page and save it to your site in one click.
- Interface (if you find that their tools are a little hard-to-use, don't bother)
- Other "goodies".

GoDaddy is the cheapest at $8.95/year for most domains.

If you want to earn miles when you register a domain name, check out UA's website. You can earn 1000 miles, I think.
