Oh yeah, it's Koninginendag again. I bet I spelled that wrong. I'll have to eat some Gouda and drink some nice Dutch beer and wear orange.

Congrats.
Some in the UK look to the monarchies of the low countries, and Scandinavia, as a pointer to where our one should maybe go in the future.

For the last years, there always have been bad weather on april 30....especially in Amsterdam....if I look at the weather forcast for tomorrow, no certain changes.....rain rain rain expected....

I'm gonna celebrate Koninginnedag in my hometown, I'm gonna make and sell Indian and Caribbean snacks with my dad and some friends...in the centre of Arnhem....with some sunny music in the background! Big grin

Look at it from the bright side, at least you won't have to get stuck at A'Dam CS. Besides what is wrong with Arnhem. It beats the crap out of Doetinchem which is were I will be going. Only good thing aboput Doetinchem is that their football team has a balance book that is positive  Big grin

disadvantage of this balance is that they play very badly and that they will be thrown out of the eredivisie. Even worse still, I will then have to listen too my little brother complayning why De Graafschap should still be in de Eredivisie.

My advice, if you have anything from De Graafschap, sell it tomorrow. Anything you can not sell can be thrown in the Oude Ijssel. Big grin

well Peter, talking about Amsterdam Central....my last 2 experiences with Koninginnedag in Amsterdam weren't that great.....stolen wallet last year, and everybody will remember the problems at the Central Station around midnight 2 years ago.....I was there as well  Yeah sure The main reasons to avoid Amsterdam for this year

Arnhem seems to have the largest amount of visitors after the main cities in the Randstad....I'm wondering how the problems at the Central Station here will be. Like Amsterdam, Arnhem is going trough a big refurbishment as well....you probably will have noticed that new (terrible) bus station as well, and the old square is gone now....so less space for all that visitors.

And Vitesse? hahaha.....I never liked that club anywayz....so if they will pull out of the Eredivisie, I will be the last person in Arnhem to give the condoleances to them  Laugh out loud, I am more dissapointed about the fact only one club in Gelderland will be left in the Eredivisie next season if everything will work out like it goes now, the well-known rival from Nijmegen. Then the main regional battles for next season will be De Graafschap/Vitesse-AGOVV....too bad

well, time to go now....enjoy Koninginnedag in Doetinchem.....de groeten uit Arnhem Big grin

Does that matter? We are doing this for the drinks, and to clear out the attics. It is customary in Holland to have junk markets all over the place on the 30th of April.

Anyway queen Beatrix wsas born Januari 31st 1938. She is therefore 65.
Queen Mum Juliana is today celebrating her birthday at the age of 94. (!)

Prince Friso looked so un-ease on the parade through Deventer. After what his cousin Margarita told he would have prefered to be elsewhere this year.
