Wolverine's Fury ->X2

Mon May 12, 2003 5:28 am

well, I have always loved the concept of mutants or, evolutions mistaken blessings. I suppose we are all mutants, in a way...though some of us more than others, myself included.

I finally saw X2 last night and WOW!

Finally you get to see some of the raw fury that Wolverine exhibits in his fighting! No suit, just a raggy looking T-shirt and pure rage.

They also give an AWESOME job with Nightcrawler! The opening scene with him was just bloody amazing!

And even the weather changing Storm has an excellent role!

But the movie was a great expose on how the X-men compliment each other!

It's a good movie for fans and non-fans alike". Have you seen it? What did you think?

You know, another thing I noticed. In watching the X jet that they use, as well as StarShip that Princess Amydala In STAR WARS uses, ever notice their similarity to the SR-71?

Yeah I saw it on friday night. 3 words: brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

Absolutely loved it! Agree with you about Nightcrawler - they did an amazing job with him. Also loved Mystique - so, mysterious indeed! Big grin

How did you like the scene at the end, with the Phoenix flying through the water? And also... I was hosing myself with laughter when the little boy stuck out his tongue at the bad dude (forgot his name) at the end of the movie? haha, thought that was very cute!  Smile

I haven't seen any great stills of Nightcrawler in Action!

You, my friend, are brillant! Here are some GREAT Wolverine scenes!

this is what it's all about!

I thought it was better than the first X-Men movie, but I'm sure that anyone who missed the first one will miss some of the jokes and references.

Greeeeat movie!!

I like all the cameos that the other X-men made. You had Collosus, Kitty Pride, Siren, and on the computer was Gambit's name.

What I loved about the movie was that even if you weren't a comic book junkie, you could still really, really enjoy the movie.

Tbar, I was trying to figure that out. Colossus was the tall kid right, who at one point glzed over with steel?

Loved Siren, but didn't know who Kitty Pride was. Also, they made lots of references to Jubilee. But who was the little kid with the forked tongue?

Well, at least they're killing real people in this one. In the last one, Wolverine didn't really use his claws for anything...

I saw it early Friday when it opened on the 3rd. Classic movie. I loved the first, and thought this one blew it away. From great action and fighting, to witty humor and lines, to the effects, to the way it played off the first X-Men movie...all around a great job. I cannot wait until I can get this on DVD.

Oh, and I did notice the striking similarity of the X-Jet to the SR-71.

Seems that Hollywood is basing its newest "fast jets" on blackbird.

Wolverine's lashing out was best when he took that trooper up against the fridge. I beleive that was his first kill. Just AMAZING.

Collosus was the big dude who had armor on, Siren of course was the girl who screamed her brains out, and Kitty Pride was the girl who walked through walls. I also just remembered that there was a reference to the Beast, he was the dude on the television who was arguing in favor of mutants.

I got to see this movie Saturday night. It blew me away. Kurt Wagner was amazing how he teleports everywhere and to save a few good X-Men.

Just FYI, but in the X-Men comics, the jet was an SR-71 enhanced with alien technology. It was even referred to as "the Blackbird". The look of the plane has made the transition to the big screen, but not the reason why.
Thou shalt mind thine altitude, lest the ground reach up and smite thee.

Socializing with European anetters and a flight on the Concorde has now reduced Mirrodie to using terms like "bloody".

I pray for you, bro. :-p lol

I saw it two weeks ago, and liked it a lot.

One regret, though, at the end of the movie, when Jean Grey is submerged by the water, Bobby/Iceman had a lot of opportunities to save the day (freezing the water while it was still held by the dam, or if it was too much, create a ice bubble strong enough to protect the jet, or at least Jean Grey...

I know Jean Grey had to 'die' because of what will happen in the next movie, but still, I feel there is a leak in the scenario, there...

Other than that, great movie. The opening scene, with Mozart's Requiem Dies Irae kicked ass. Well, almost. It could have been choregraphiated so that the music did not have to be cut the way they did.

That final scene was sort of a kicker. I kept imagining whtether or not I was really "seeing" something in the lake. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.

I saw that gay article and was not impressed. I mean, you can make the same arguements about any oppressed peoples being portrayed in the movie. In a way, that is what makes it intriguing to many walks of life.

Is it true that X2 was the frist film to be #1 in all its international openings? That was one rumor I heard.
