I've heard plenty around my school & can add to Gregjet's list with the word & what I know or think it means.

Homie, G, Dawg- Friend or counterpart.
B*tch, Ho- Girl, of pretty much any form.
Holla'- I'm guessing this is "Cool" or "Sweet"?
Player/Playa- Ladies man? Similar to Pimp? Also "friend"?
Score- Have sex.

Who says that stuff???! Am I really that out of it?

I mean, I only turn 23 in 2 months, I can't be all that old. Plus I have been watching TRL lately so I am up on what all is cool and stuff... you'd think I still fit in to that young, cool, and hip demographic. But I did spend my Friday evening watching a show on C-SPAN.

N766UA:

lol.. good... cause if you came to NY or LA and started using phrases like that you'd get looked at really really weird, for most of those words at least...

Anyway, most "slang", or the "street" language that Gregjet is talking about originates on the streets, primarily in lower income areas of urban cities (i.e. NYC probably being the biggest in that field with LA right behind).... They are then spread mainly via the rap game, or people from these cities interacting with people from the smaller more suburbia areas... Just take a look at how many big name rappers are out of NYC (50 cent, Jay-z, Nas, DMX (Yonkers), Run DMC, Biggie etc.. etc..). There is a lot of slang that we use here that when i say it to people outside of NY they don't get, but will probably be using in like 2 years... Basically, the areas outside of like NYC and LA are in many ways like a year behind when it comes to street terms...

Detroit slang is more just mispronouncing words..
Toronto becomes "torono" for example, and no not everybody talks like a gangsta here.

We arent like those crazy Ohioans who flush the "turlet" and "woarsh" their hands..

My views as expressed above are my views alone and do not constitute the views of my employer.

I can not tell you what the current slang is around here, but when I do hear it, I know what they are saying and need to translate. That's right... in addition to speaking Spanish, I need to translate "English" to English.....

N312RC- LMAO- You've got us figured out! I don't quite understand why people here in the Buckeye State want to "warsh" their hands after they go to the "turlet".

Found a good site for those wanting to translate websites into Slang, or "Shizzolate" the text. http://www.asksnoop.com

N312RC- Only people in the crappy part of the state talk like that. Mainly the ones influenced by in-breeding Kentuckyans.  Big thumbs up
