Sun Jun 08, 2003 9:41 pm

As good as the first?

Let's put it this way... if you liked the first one, you'll like this one.  Smile

Let's just say if that Camaro was a real Yenco or that Challenger was a real hemi, they would have never done that to them . And a hemi would have had a shaker hood. I wonder how much Year One got for all those close-ups of their licence plates? Did anyone else see the shipping sticker oin the Camaro when it was on the lift? Also, that Camaro would have capsized that yacth when it hit it.
A pretty dumb movie from a technicla point of view.

I got to see this on Wednesday. A friend had special screening tickets. Let me just say I'm glad I didn't pay money for this. United Fan says it is pretty weak from a technical point of view, I know nothing about cars but I'll take his word for it. From an acting point of view it was horrible! Paul Walker is the worst actor ever. When most of your lines involve the word 'bro' you know it is gonna suck.

I would say just enjoy it for what it is, mindless entertainment with a director that mocks the very audience that is watching the film.

Just saw it- horrible acting, and I didn't laugh much at the side humor but the racing scenes were pretty cool. I have nothing against Paul Walker and Tyrese but they are not good actors, Ludacris was probably the best out of all the major characters. Also when they press the Nitrous button, the effect on the car is HIGHLY exaggerated, the outside scenery immediately turns into a blur once the button is pressed. Hot chicks and just seeing the cars racing was worth the admission price I think, they had some bad*ss cars.

I'm not surprised at the technical flaws of the movie. I heard on the radio that a reporter talked to the screenwriters about the movie, wondering about their "expertise" in cars and streetracing. They said they knew absolutely nothing about it and got all their "technical" details from the Internet.

They probably got their "screenwriting" details from the Internet as well...

I went to it date and I picked it over Finding Nemo because she wanted to see the Skyline (and well, I did too). Great looking chicks and great looking cars. But horrible acting and a horrible story. Too bad street racing isn't anything like that in real life.

I am glad that I chose to see Bruce Almighty on the opening day of Fast and Furious 2.
Oh yes, DID I EVER LAUGH!! Carrey is a Comedic Genius while Aniston rocks! Catherine Bell from Jag is also in it too... a very nice Iranian Surprise. Big grin
The visuals of Too Fast too Furious from the preview such as the street racing and the girls were very nice. That one part where a red car gets stomped by the semi rocked! But Just as I suspected, it wasn't all that much without Vin Diesel.

I will probably rent this movie when it comes out. Please don't make a third sequel... We don't want this movie to become like an "Airport 7x" series where each sequel, the movie gets worse and worse.

On the forums, I counted myself in in a thread that was creating a '2F2F suicide club', where we all promised to kill ourselves if this movie took the number one spot at the box office this past weekend. Unfortunately, it did. But I am still here.  Smile Instead I drew an ASCII image of me hanging from a rope.  Big grin
Next flight.... who knows.

I went to see it mainly for the R34 Skyline GTR. Unfortunately this car was only in the first 5 mins of the fil  Sad In my opinion the GTR should have been the main car rather than the Mitsubishi Evolution- which don't get me wrong is a fast car, but the GTR is just sooo much better. The REAL cars- i.e the R34 GTR, Toyota Supra Twin Turbo, Mazda RX7 series 6 etc. were hardly even featured to my dismay. Btw Paul Walker owns a couple of Skyline R34 GTR's i've heard and he is really into the import car thing.

The movie felt absolutely nothing like the first one. Where as the first one dealt mainly with street racing and at least had a semi decent plot...The sequel reminded me of a bad episode of Miami Vice. And thank god I wasnt the only one who noticed the endless use of the word 'bro' by Paul Walker. =P
