Record For Nation At War With Multiple Enemies?

Fri Jun 13, 2003 4:00 am

What is the record for one nation to fight against other nations?

For example, Israel fought SIX countries at the same time in 1967 right? Did Nazi Germany fight against more during the closing days of WWII?

Let's count them shall we?

France, UK, Greece, Yugoslavia, Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, USA, USSR, Czechoslovakia, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, Canada, France.
Might have been more...

I think that's a record, but I could be mistaken.

I am sure that this was the case. It really was like Germany and Japan vs. Rest of the world.
Historically spoken the Swedish Forces in the 30 year war fought a lot of "nations".
The Mongolian "army" in the 13th century fought its way arround the earth. The Mongolian empire was huge, from central europe to the coast of Japan. Maybe the mongolians had the most enemies, or maybe the romans. This his hard to say, because "nations" where not defined as they are today in ancient times.

In modern history, the nod probably goes to either Iraq during the 91 war, or North Korean, during the Korean conflict.

Both times they faced internatial opposition from what? 25 thirty odd countries.
