They've just been announced and it turns out that I was totally wrong!

Here's a link for the full list of the fixtures:

Glad to see that there's a Manchester derby the day after my birthday! But one forgets that the fixtures released today are only a basis for negotiation....no doubt Sky will concoct some ridiculous timings for some games...I quite fancy a Newcastle v Portsmouth game to be transferred to a Monday night!

I would have thought the genuises of Sky would make Newcastle - Portsmouth a Sunday lunchtime kick-off instead, wouldn't you David?  Big grin

That may be more likely  Big grin What I may do is keep a record of what the fixtures look like today and make a note of when the games are actually played! I remember one of the 1st live Monday games when Sky got the contract was Ipswich v. Utd, they don't take into account how convenient it will be for the supporters.

Have you put in a bid for one of Maine Road seats?

No. I'm not a season ticket holder for a start. However, moving to the new stadium will mean I've a better chance of actually getting in now. Many of my most recent games have been away matches and to get into Maine Road has generally involved buying the hospitality package. Pretty good value, but £100 + to watch a football match is not something you can do too frequently.

Surely you're not a prawn sandwich eater  Nuts ? There was a story linking that brilliant player McManamanamanamanamanaman with City a week or so ago but if someone's not prepared to pay over the odds for their seat, there's no chance of getting him (though selling Berkovic for £750k to Portsmouth will help pay his wages).

Just looked at the City fixtures and seen that they could easily get into double figures by the 6th game.

A prawn sandwich eater is someone who goes on corporate hospitality to the games. I'm a person who lives 250 miles away and can't get a normal seat in the last, smallest, incarnation of Maine Road and so pays out of his own pocket for the only vacancies there are, and that tends to be in the hospitality area. I'll be able to get a tickets at Eastlands though. Much better.

Yes, City's fixtures look to have come out alright this year, apart from Arsenal early on who have always stuffed City. Besides, at least four points a year come City's way from the Manchester derbies, don't they?  Big grin

I've had my season ticket a couple of weeks now so I can't wait for it to start. The big game for us is the visit by our local rivals but that date is in doubt as the police may want to move it to a lunchtime kick off on Sunday for 'safety' reasons. Now if there is going to be trouble it will happen on any day so I don't see the logic of moving the game to a Sunday. Unless of course it has something to do with double time being paid to all those extra policemen that will have to be on duty.

I was much happier when a game was played on a Saturday at 3 o'clock. You knew where you where then and you could look forward to the results at 5 knowing that the league table really meant something.

Oh well.

I know that Portsmouth are one of the favourites to go down but a good start is crucial to players confidence and ultimately our chances of staying ib the Prem, so I have to say that we've been quite lucky....Villa and Bolton at home plus Man City and Wolves away is better than we could have expected.

Looking forward particualrly to December 20th!!
