Only a man, like Gay Davis, who has sold his soul to the Devil, could pull off something like this.
Why? Because he can. Mr. Davis has been asked several times on what he thinks about the ever spiraling cost of living in CA
, and the fact that people and businesses are leaving in droves. Basically, he has been quoted as saying
“Well people and businesses will always want to come to California, lured by our weather and our scenery, and the fact that we are still the 6th largest economy in the world”.
Well, for what it’s worth, and judging from the amount of runaway development and traffic gridlock I see, I think he’s right. But can that last forever? And that comment about being the sixth largest? Yeah, but for how much longer?
Anyway, effective Oct 1, DMV vehicle fees here in CA
will triple, citing "economic woes".
Can anyone give me one legitimate reason why this would be beneficial? Not only will individual motorists be stung just in fees, but the cost of buying goods will also rise inasmuch as any company that uses a CA
registered delivery vehicle will also be hit-thus raising retail prices to help offset those hikes. IMO, this hike will keep CA
in a deep recession, if not triggering an outright
Where did all the money go? And why is up to the taxpayers-who had nothing to do with it-be forced to pay it off?
If you want to fix California’s so-called "budget deficit", then we need to do the following:
First, get Davis out of office. This latest move will no doubt further galvanize an effort that is already gaining popularity. I understand that Davis was duly elected twice (this, by the way proves that some of the stupidest and/or laziest people in the world reside in the so-called Golden State). But that does not give him Carte Blanche to rape and pillage the taxpayers like this. What about the 46% of us that didn’t vote for him? We’re not talking about a small minority fringe group whining to the ACLU, but nearly half of the electorate of the most populous state in the Union who tried to put the kibash on this.
Second, it's time to roll up the San Diego red carpet and seal off the border. We are broke, at least in part due to the fact that half of Latin America wants to live here, and at least that percentage came here illegally. I cannot overemphasize that word enough:
ILLEGAL ILLEGAL ILLEGAL. What part of
ILLEGAL don't any of you understand? That means, last time I checked, they have/are breaking the law just being here. These people have no skills, no jobs, little or no grasp of the English language. We have to put them in special schools, on welfare, in government housing, provide all of their health care. Who do you think pays for all of this?
That’s right. The “evil” rich as well as, dare I say it, the people that work AND pay taxes. (I’ve heard the argument about how illegal aliens and welfare recipients contribute to the economy too by buying goods and services. The only thing is that they are spending money that was already given to them by the taxpayers, so in the end, no new wealth is being created.) Many people (Latinos in particular) scream and moan constantly about how 1) the West (and CA
in particular) was “stolen” from Mexico and 2) They are simply “taking back” what’s theirs, and 3) how living on the dole is not only a privilege, but a right. And anyone who supports cutting off that “life line” in an inhumane racist.
Call it whatever you want, but the fact is that WE
are paying for THEM. And if the
GAVACHOS are so bad, then why does the prosperity end at the north side of the border? (pointing out this fact usually shuts them up) Had we NOT come in, then these people would still be living in their adobe lean-to shacks in a parched and desolate wasteland, just like the rest of Mexico still does.
This isn’t racism. This is fact. They should be kissing the feet of anyone who’s earned an honest dollar and spent it in this state.
Third, lets trim the waste at the government level instead of gouging the taxpayers. Since Davis took office in 1999, he has hired more than 40,000 new government employees.
Does anyone know what these people do? Why are they so essential to us now where they weren’t 4 years ago?
Take every last one of those 40,000 people, and fire them. Every last one of them. If we didn’t need them before, we don’t need them now.
What is the real reason for this? In a state with as much wealth and people as CA
, I simply don't buy this budget BS
SOMETHING ELSE is going on. Is Davis selling out to the Latino bloc? Is he knowingly driving out all other ethnicities so they CAN
back? Is this social engineering? Is the real agenda behind this an effot to drive people (pun intended) out of their cars and onto public transit-thus giving the government more control over peoples lives by default?
What is it?
Meanwhile, I have résumés pending in three other states.
Enough is enough. And I promise not to let the door hit my ass on the way out, although frankly, I’m pretty sure there will be someone else right behind me.
