A chain called Fatty Arbuckles here in the UK used to have a similar challenge. Called the 'Belly Buster', you had to eat a starter of Prawn Cocktail, Onion rings and garlic mushrooms, followed by a 50 oz steak, massive pile of fries and coleslaw, followed by a litre of ice cream for dessert. If you finished it, you got the meal free plus a T Shirt proclaiming your success. I had a friend (not overweight at all) who not only successfully finished it all, but also ate some of my fries. About an hour and a half after, he ate a large doner kebab on top of all that. And he ain't no fat b*stard!
