EBay ...

Sun Jul 06, 2003 2:59 am

Im having a few problems at the moment with eBay, everytime i log in and go to sell something it keeps asking me to "update" my credit card information ... it's really starting to p*ss me off now as i never put my credit card number down in the first place ...
Anyone else getting this? Anyone know a way to stop it?
Regards

I did not think that you could be an ebay member without a credit card. How are Ebay supposed to get their fees without you supplying a credit card

EGFF,
Just make sure that the web address is correct and that it says https if it is correct then as Jeremy said, maybe you havent entered your card details as this is necessary for you to buy/sell on eBay....

Shaun,

have you asked eBay support yet? I know it's not necessary to have a credit card for selling on eBay Germany, but since this may vary from country to country, you should ask eBay support.

You might want to send an email directly through the Ebay website to someone and get their assurance that the original message is legitimate. There is a bad rash of Ebay/Paypal schemes going on right now that try and trick people into giving up password info or getting a credit card number.

I just registered, if you don't want to put down your credit card, you have to put down another email adress from a internet provider or your job or school.

I´m an Ebay member and I would never show my credit-card number.
BTW how much are the fees when you sell something on Ebay? I only buy on
Ebay...

To get to view the adult listings you have to have a credit card on file or in order to use an anonymous email, ie. one from a domain known to be easy to sign up for free like Hotmail.

Maybe our friend here was trying to get into the "Mature Audiences" category...

Not to sound nasty or anything...

To sell on ebay, you have to have some form of guarantee established - either via bank draft or credit card account.

Buying something on ebay doesn't entitle you to sell on ebay until you and ebay establish a "credit relationship."
