New Survivor Show To Be Shot In Mississippi

Tue Jul 15, 2003 9:09 am

SURVIVOR MISSISSIPPI

Due to the popularity of the Survivor shows, Mississippi is planning to do its own, entitled "Survivor - Mississippi Style."

The contestants will start in Biloxi, travel up to Hattiesburg and on to McComb and Jackson. Then they will head up to Yazoo City, Senatobia and Tupelo.
From there they will proceed down to West Point and Columbus.
Then back down through Louisville, Quitman, Laurel, and to Lucedale and back down to Biloxi.

Each will be driving a bright pink Volvo with California license plates and bumper stickers that read:
"I'm gay".
"I support PETA".
"No more cutting down timber".
"The NORTH was RIGHT".
"The PAC10 can Beat the SEC ANYDAY".
"NASCAR sucks".
"Hillary/Sharpton in 2004".
"Deer Hunting is murder".
And "I'm here to confiscate your guns!"

The first one who makes it back to Biloxi alive, wins.

Good luck to all contestants!

I have to admit that this is pretty funny.

Those old pink Cadillacs are cool. Volvos are a very rare sight down here, however.

I'll be sure to look for those Pink Cadillacs or whatever they are. Are there any members who live close to biloxi/gulfport/Ocean Springs

I was stationed in Biloxi for a time back in 1996. If I never go back to Mississippi, it will be too freakin' soon. Thats for sure.

KROC, what were you doing in Biloxi? Tell me you ventured east to the Pensacola/Destin area to see some real beaches!

Steve, I was stationed at Keesler AFB. And yes, I did venture well East into Florida for some real beaches. The Mississippi Beaches, with there polluted brown water, dead fish everywhere, trash all over the beaches just will not work. Besides, me and a friend must have walked half way to Cuba one day before the the water started getting deep, lol.

Hey, KROC, I never paid attention to your bio...my old man is retired Air Force (just got out last November after 37 years).

Ever got stationed at Eglin or Hurlbert Field? At least you would have some halfway decent beaches to go to...

...aww, f*ck those, how about Hickam?  Smile

Ah, the wonders of the Mississippi Sound...dead fish, trash, used con...well, you get the idea.

The Gulf of Mexico really improves clarity-wise once you get past Mobile,AL...basically, the further East you go, the clearer the water.

Biloxi Beach used to be very popular for beach-goers back in the early/mid 80's (my fam and I used to go there a lot)...of course, the water was nicer back than.

Yeah, being from Jackson, I've been down to the Mississippi Gulf coast on numerous occasions, and I must agree that its beaches are disappointing.

Come to think of it, that's where we went for our ninth grade class trip. They told us we were going to the beach. They failed to mention it was Gulfport's beach. They also failed to mention we were going there just to pick up garbage!  Angry

I've been to one of the beaches in Gulfport, right under the approach to Runway 32 at GPT. The water was quite eery, but it was still decent (a lot better than the Atlantic Ocean in Boston). Anyway, next time I'm down there, I will make sure that I press on past Mobile to the Pensacola area to go to a real Gulf beach.

Is the water swimmable? Or is it cancerous!?
