Standard Oil Broken Up Into What?

Sun Aug 10, 2003 1:43 am

After John D. Rockefeller lost his anti-trust case, what was Standard Oil broken up into?

I heard the company was broken up regionally. Like the Ohio Valley part of Standard Oil became Sohio (which went out of business in the 1990s), and the Texas region became Texaco. But what are some of the other names of the new companies?

I'm too lazy to type everything out but I think this site should be what you're looking for.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I believe Standard Oil was broken up into Esso/Exxon for New Jersey and Mobil for NY.
