do you have a picture? i can foresee a frivolous lawsuit trying to prove that signs like that constitute entrapment and should be illegal.  Nuts

Well you have to go down and pay to file a lawsuit with the court, they are just paying the same thing they would pay as the fine for that ticket.....

....For a case you would lose anyways

Covert,
The price of the ticket isn't the issue, it is the effect it has on your insurance rates. Granted most traffic court cases are baseless, but considering a single ticket in some states can mean several hundred dollars (or more) per year in higher auto insurance premiums, it can be worth the effort to use any defense possible.

Or you could just not speed and avoid the problem entirely by not breaking the law.

Yep, got one. Just last week.

Was doing 140 kph instead of 90 kph (had a good excuse for that, having promised my CFI I would arrive very quickly), and lo and behold, I got my picture taken by the cops.

No, I am waiting for the nice letter to arrive...

I've never got one! You just have to know where they can't take your photo...  Big grin Anyway, since there are roads in my country where 200 km/h are not considered speeding, I can't complain.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

My dad has the Valentine One radar which I guess is the top of the line. Saved his ass on a couple of occasions, he admits.

The V1 is the best in breed, there is no doubt.

Radar traps are rarely related to safety; they are revenue production tools.

Never-ever got a speeding ticket, but as Aloges said, we here are in a better position. If I would live in a different country, I probably would have gotten my fair share too.

One of my dreams is to drive on the Autobhan. This 100km/h nonsense ain't cuttin it for me.
Back in 1994, I was pulled over by a cop who insists I was doing 205 km/hr in a Mercury Sable (Ford product). My defense? The rev limiter kicked in at 185. Judge lowered it to 160. Six demerits, $600 dollar fine... No suspension of driv lic. Reason for her leniency? It was clear the cop was lying. We just could not prove it with sufficient evidence.

I saw a system the other day that is linked to a GPS and is updated via the net with the positions of all the fixed cameras. It gives you a warning when you are about to aproach a camera. It costs about £400 so if you depend on your car it could be a good investment.

Or you can obay the speed limits......
