I Got New Wheels!

Tue Aug 26, 2003 10:08 pm

I just got rid of my old 93 Renault Clio and just bought a 95 Mazda 626 2.0 16V. Has anyone got the same car ?
BTW : The Clio cost me 500 Euro and I sold it for 400 Euro after two months  Smile

I drive a 2000 Mazda 626 2.0 16V, manual transmission. It gets the job done, driving me from A to B in a decently comfortable ride. It's roomy enough for me and my family. That 4-cyl engine, while supplying enough power to drive 120 km/h with an acceptable noise level, is quite fuel efficient. On average, it sips around 10l/100km; not bad considering the winters we have here, and really appreciated these days.

To tell you the truth, no one really cares about your new ride. But, hey, if you're proud, then more power to you.

In recognition of your shameless, egregious self glossing, it is my honor to announce that

Despite slipping and not posting this earlier. For your disgusting self-gloss about your new rig...it has to be done, and acording to SOP 13-4 section 3.7, you have earned this.....

Oh come on folks, he is happy about his new car. People have done this many times on these boards. It may not be a Lincoln or a Cadillac but I can understand his thrill of having a different set a wheels.

Hey Curtis Mayfield. Its all in good fun. Self-Gloss = a Shaft and a prize. Besides, I got new wheels a month ago, and didn't feel the need to self-gloss. Its just a fun thing. Now if he got a Lincoln or a Caddy, then the Shaft would be issued for another reason other than 'fun', lol

KROC's "new" wheels: a beautiful forest green 1978 Gran Torino Brougham with matching hubcaps and "landau" roof . . . split bench seat . . . green vinyl "sport" interior . . . AM/FM 8-track . . . 302 V8 pumping out 140 horses. . . bought from Jim Rome.

Close Stretch, but I traded in Romey's old XR4TI that I bought from him for a 1984 IROC!

Stretch 8:
I hate to be anal but the last year for the Gran Torino was 1977 and the proper color used by Ford was 'Jade' (color code 8Z).  Smile
THe Gran Torino looked best in 'red' or 'ember gold diamondfire'. Big grin

Superfly: My apologies about the end date of Gran Torino production. Gosh, "ember gold diamondfire." I thought BMW had baloney color descriptions. I just remember growing up in the Detroit area (Dad worked for Ford) what pigs those old cars were . . . huge displacement V8s pumping out under 200 hp!

KROC: you should be pacing the Indy 500 next year!

That's awsesome, I bet he has some great stories to tell. In the 1970s that had to be the second best job behind being the captain of a Pan Am 747-100 or BOAC VC-10!  Smokin cool
