Olimpia finished 3rd in their respective league, so Liverpool should breeze into the 2nd round. Some interesting games worth mentioning...

AIK Stockholm v Valencia
Dundee v Perugia
Southampton v Steaua Bucharest
Villarreal v Trabzonspar
Grasshoppers v Hadjuk Split

I think the Grasshopper and Slpit game looks the be the pick of the bunch. Like the past few seasons, will the 3 place teams from the Champions League group phase, join up with the UEFA cup? The past two winners have come on this route, Porto and Feyenoord.

Looks like Manchester City have just signed Steve McManaman. Should strengthen the squad a bit.

Oh, and Arsenal@LHR, that would the UEFA Cup that Arsenal might have a chance of winning rather than the "Champions" League they go out of every year would it?  Big grin

Luck's gotta change sometime?
Anyway, it wasn't a gloat, just that Panionios v Nordsjaelland and Leiria v Molde don't set my pulses racing as Arsenal vs Real Madrid.

Hmm, can't see what makes you say that!  Big grin

Really, UEFA need to do something to make the UEFA Cup more attractive. Back in the old days, when the Champions League was called the European Cup (why oh why change it?) the UEFA Cup was always felt the hardest one to win, because invariably you had two or three strong teams form the major countries involved. At the moment it is so clearly a secondary tournament.

Banco - I'd have to disagree with you there, McManananananaman sucks, just like Fowl-oh-er sucks.

Waste of money!
