Damn Yankees...

Sun Sep 07, 2003 9:45 am

Are there any other Yankee fans that are totally frustrated by the way the team has been playing. They've gotten killed by Boston, who is now only 1.5 games back two days in a row. This is completely inexcusable. When you look at the two teams on paper, the Yanks should be doing much better, and at the very least losing in close efforts.

I blame one person for this total collapse....Joe Torre. The team has gotten totally complacent and Torre has done absolutely nothing about it. Steinbrenner has had to go look for talent on other teams to make up for Torre's lack of motivation over the club. And needless to say, it hasnt worked. This team needs a good kick in the ass, and Torre is not providing it. This team has looked like the Tigers for the last couple weeks and its really getting on my nerves. If this team does not make it to the World Series, it would be my hope that Torre is fired.

Wake up Yankees!

This weekend proved that the Sox are for real and it's the division is going to be a lot tougher than you thought it would be a few weeks ago!

Here's a little video for Yankees fans:

There are millions of Yankee Fans out there ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR there were until they got wacked by the Sox two games in a row. Don't worry Jcs, yoru bandwagon will fill back up though if they win a few games.

Oh, and way to sound like Steinbrenner Jcs. I guess Joe Torre swings the bats for the hitters all slumping, and Torre is blowing the leads and not the bullpen right?

Another reason I don't like you, Jcs-as if the other reasons aren't enough.  Smile

Anyone outside NY who is a Yankee fan (or outside Boston that's a Celtic fan, or anyone outside LA that's a Lakers fan), is a little front-runner.

Not true at all Alpha 1. I was a Laker fan way back, cause when I first watched the NBA, I was with my Grandparents who were big Celtic Fans. It was the finals, I decided I liked to watch Basketball, and being a pruick little kid at like 9, I routed for the Lakers to win. I was hooked since. Well up Until Fat Daddy signed. Anywaythere can be legit fans all over, but most of the 'fans' are only there cause they win.....Like Jcs  Big grin

Yankees have a couple problems,

First David Wells is a cry baby and a quiter.

Second Mariano Rivera is now Human, batters are no longer intimidated.

and Third Joe Torre has had Steinbrenner riding his ass all year, he has one year option left and definetly would be smart to take the money but with Steinbrenner back to his bad old ways and questioning the best coach the Yankees (baseball) has ever had is dumb.

I think Steinbrenner is pushing Torre out, Torre has been fighting but might not fight any more.

Torre is rich, and I believe he owns a home in Maui where he goes in the off season. I think this year might be his last, if it is shame on Steinbrenner for forcing him out.

Joe Torre deserves better.

One more thing, there have been rumors (rumors!) that the boss has Bobby Valentine "on deck" to take over for Torre, that would be SOMETHING!

Few things gave me as much pleasure as watching Pedro do his thing against the Yankees yesterday on ESPN. Watching them get pounded once by the Sox in the Bronx is great. Watching it two days in a row is pure bliss. Perhaps Boston will be on a cloud tomorrow after their Sox SWEEP the Yanks? We can only hope so.

GO RED SOX... You can catch those Yankees....

Oh no, imagine Georgie the Boss forced to endure the indignity of going to the playoffs in the WILD CARD slot! Oh, the horror!

I love his tirades, like the one he went on yesterday after Pedro shut the Yankees down. He is his own worst enemy. It's hilarious. The same guy that signs the checks, destabilizes the whole damn franchise. And all of MLB for that matter.

A San Francisco vs Boston World Series would be great for baseball. The theme could be "Giants vs. Red Sox.... Something's gotta give."
It's a new day. Every moment matters. Now, more than ever.
